Fabia Broken (not turning on) Video Attached

Featured Replies

Hello, my Skoda Fabia (2004 1.4 TDI, now 10 years old) has developed an electrical fault. It won't turn on, and the odometer display goes strange when you try to turn it on.

(Look at the crazy odometer display)

This all started happening when I was driving the car, and suddenly it lost all power (to everything, was doing around 15mph at the time, if I was going faster then who knows what would've happened).

I've currently got it in a garage it was recovered to, but was just wondering what you guys think of this fault?

(It's not the battery or alternator, these have already been tested thoroughly).

The car isn't worth much, so if this fault would cost alot of money to fix, then it's probably time for me to get rid of the car.

Is there anything you can tell from the video?

Thanks very much,

Shockfire.

Possibly dodgy / broken instrument cluster?  I've not seen those symptoms before.  Might be worth checking the connections on the back of the cluster too (Has cluster been removed recently for some reason?)

Main earth strap?
