Yellow Citigo

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was in Garland Motors (Aldershot) this morning, they had a "Sunflower Yellow" Citigo. It was a solid colour, but was not basic price, still extra cost. I liked the colour very much but still prefer "Spring Green Metallic".

Has any one else seen this colour, what did you think?

The cleaner at Skoda Leicester has one and I have seen it parked up there. Nice funky colour tbh - always suits a little car.

The reason why:

Sunflower Yellow is a special paint (not a standard solid paint option). There is a cost associated with any special paint, whether it is metallic or solid, so the cost has to be passed on and is charged at the same price as a metallic/pearlescent paint.

Unless it is the same paint on the same car but with a Seat badge on the front, in which case it is free. Special paint my arse. Now white is back in fashion I notice white as become a 'special' paint with several manufacturers also

Yes, I think this "Special paint" is a myth, Skoda can sell hundreds of cars this colour, it is not a metallic colour just away to make more money out of the customer!

What utter whitewash.  Sorry if you're new to the site but it looks like you're a dealer or represent a dealer and so you should be ashamed of trying to justify such a stupid pricing policy.

So yellow is 'special' to the Citigo but not the Mii.  But then White is 'Special' to the Mii attracting an extra cost of £175 but is 'free' on the Citigo.  Both Skoda and SEAT must think that their customers are daft to swallow these 'special paint' theories.  They're all made in the same factory and go down the same production lines all mixed up together.

I bet that in most deals to buy a new Mii or Citigo that the price actually paid will be the same irrespective of these non metallic 'special paint' option prices.  I paid no more for my Mii in white as I vaguely remember that at the time, Red was the 'special paint' option!

When we chose my wife's new Citigo we went for red, because we liked it, and to save some money.

The dealer said it was a good choice ,because when he offered a part exchange value, he didn't offer a penny more for metallic paint.

My Son has a yellow Citigo.

It's  very visible in this grey winter weather.

When it's sunny it looks lovely. :sun:

As noted above the Sunflower Yellow is free on the Mii. I see SEAT now charge for the white, though that was also free when I bought my MII.

I went for the yellow without having seeing one in the flesh and was a little nervous until I got to see it. I’m happy that I made the right decision. I think you can “get away” with such a colour in a small car and I do think it is very visible in the current murky weather.

I’ve had my Mii for 10 months and 10,000 miles. The Up/Mii/Citigo are cracking cars - it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it…
