2005 VRS 38k - Whats it worth?

Featured Replies

Somebody on here has been smoking crack!

3.3k lol

Worth 5k due to mileage all day every day (private)

6k at a garage probs

Yeah mate - if I was you I'd be thinking far closer to home on that !

You are talking about a car with no clear history on this, just pure speculation on lowish miles

Bossfox even gave you an example of a yet to be sold 2007 lowish miles SE £5100

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/302893-skoda-fabia-vrs-special-edition/

Yet you still think a mysterious unknown car 2 years older than the one above with apparent low miles (but completely unknown history or condition) is also worth that figure

Dealer maybe, private - never. If so prove it to me, less hot air and abuse - more actual proof mate....

Your choppsing at everyone about being obsessed with low mileages yet your more obsessed with the cars age.

so I best tell my m8 his Mk2 RS2000 in his garage is worth about £300 shall I?

Due to its age...............

There's a rare 5 door '05 plate Ibiza PD130 for sale up here with 37k on the clock for £4600.

Thought that seemed a pretty good price.

I wasn't aware vagcom had a way to show you if the mileage is genuine? Please explain? I have it still from my bora days !

I have a real thing for blue cars..... how I landed up with a silver civic I don't know. I'll claim sickness!

Full VCDS has a mileage checker function.  It won't be on the old 409.1 vag-com that was commonly available without paying Ross-Tech. :)

not all cars have the function that works with VCDS, but having verified one Fabia vRS has been clocked before, I know it will work again :D

One things for sure there is a huge difference between "cars up for sale for x" ...."im selling my car for X".....and the clincher, "I got X for the car".

That simple but obvious point seems to be missed by many.

In your head it can be worth WHATEVER you like but its what someone else actually is prepared to come along and pay for it that matters lol. Don't quote what cars are trying to sell for - it means nothing at all.

I'd have that 2007 SE with 80k miles odd for £5100 though.....that is worth the money

It cost from memory £250 odd so I hope its genuine! It was worth it at the time, four of us all had vag cars and it paid for itself time and time again.

I'll enquire about the service history tomorrow and update here. I meant to do it today but being ten feet underground most of the day I didn't really fancy getting the phone out ;)

mines a 54 plate bought it 8mth ago with 69k and full history running 210bhp payed £4100 for it from ireland

well it sounds like it is, but it should have constantly upgraded itself when connected to the internet and now is VCDS version 12.12

I haven't used it in some time, I've had Honda for quite some time now. My friend has it as his A4 is throwing up faults left right and centre. (250k - she's an old lady and needs some attention).

Speaking of which - the 1.9 PD is a fantastic lump. His has been remapped since 120k and up until recently nothing has gone wrong with it (major)

I actually helped my mate pick up an 05 fabia vrs recently with 70k miles for 3950 (private) full skoda history and is minty mint

So yes i still think one is smoking crack

And the reason that SE hasn't sold

A - its slammed to the tits so potential target market is reduced considerably

B - its for sale on a skoda forum and cars on here generally do not sell well as the majority of forum members own a car already (thats how they are here) very rarely does someone join looking for one

C - its january (tough month just after xmas)

D - private market is pretty poor as not a lot of people can make 5k cash sales, most cars are bought on tick nowadays

How easy / expensive is it to replace the white seats with leather trim or get some nice seat covers? I have a two year old and besides telling me to go faster constantly (even at red lights ;) ) he makes mess!

Leather retrim your looking at £800 from seat surgeons in york.

You could try pick up a set of fabia sport seats (quite rare however) these are fabric and the same shape as vrs ones but in black.

Other options would be polo 5door gt seats (again rare)

Theres also people now putting in alfa romeo seats somehow

There are a lot of options available :)

Thanks for the reply! Perhaps I'll just try get some seat covers for the rear!

Decisions decisions currently between a fabia vrs, Octavia and a jetta :S

Seat Surgeons in York or Bielowski's in Sheffield are both excellent for cow re-trims.

Regarding prices and the cars, it's ok saying a car has FSH, but unless there is paperwork to confirm it, I always take the opinion that it is incorrect unless proved otherwise. Even a string of mot certificates don't mean a thing as it is so easy to have a digital odometer (coughs) adjusted.

Lost count of the number of times I dealt with local sellers who had (coughs again) adjusted the mileages. Strangely, the least likely to do it were the **** who used car sales garages as a front for money laundering (drug money proceeds) as they didn't want 5-0 paying any more attention to them than strictly necessary.
