Did any pre-FL Yetis ever have extra lights in lower bumper ?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Was looking at my Dad's Yeti at the weeked (haven't got one myself yet, so was taking the opportunity to poke round his), it's a 2012 1.2 DSG SE plus.

I know the fogs & DRLs are incorporated in the round lights higher up near the main lights.

But I was looking at the lower front bumper, and it looks just like there are blanking plates fitted where a lot of cars would have optional foglights fitted - ie at the bottom, towards the corners.

As if it was always designed so they could be popped out to allow additional lights to be fitted there.

I've never seen any mention of any (and can't see why there would be), but wondered if any models - perhaps in different countries/markets - ever have the option of extra lights lower down ?

Thanks for that.

Was wondering more if there were ever any OE options for lights in that position ? (As opposed to fitting aftermarket lights there)

It just looked like the bumper was designed that way...

Nothing OE available.

There is a photo on the forum depicting a Yeti with lamps in the bumper. I have done a quick search but cannot find it. I'm not sure if the conclusion was that it was just photoshopped. I seem to recall the lights were shaped like Octavia ones.

Maybe someone else may be able to find the thread

I remember that.

Agree (from memory), that it was a photo-shop of the Octavia lights in a Yeti.

Perhaps they may fit.

No they are purely styling dating back to the original design concept, which the classic Yeti was very similar too in many ways. This was despite being on a bigger platform than originally planned to incorporate full 4x4 capability, rather than just 4x4 looks.

It's a very well executed Photoshop job if it is.

Think they'd look OK actually!

Not sure if your referring to my posted photo but just in case no photoshop; wouldn't know were to start. Took it myself during a brief visit to the Skoda factory museum, which sadly was under refurbishment at the time with only a few cars on display, this concept being one of them.

Ah sorry I meant the linked photo of the Yeti appearing to have the extra lower lights :)

I hadn't seen those photos. When I first saw it on the car I assumed they were "faux" brake cooling ducts.
