Best method of cleaning octy vrs seats and carpets...?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Looking for the best way to clean my octy seats and capets.. with them being white and this terrible rain thats been coming down they're looking pretty tired..

Before and After pics would be much appriciated :)

Valet is the obvious one but prefer something thats quick and wont have my seats soaked for days on end.

Thanks

Old ways are the best ways. Spray on carpet cleaner and scrubbing brush- as to the cleaner then have a look through the detailing forums as there's millions of them. I just use the vax stuff you get with carpet shampooers in a squirty bottle- leave it a minute, scrub, then wipe the excess off with a microfibre then leave the car running with floor level heaters on full tilt with the windows cracked open for an hour

I have wet vaxed seats with a fair amount of crud being lifted off.  Always appears initially like not much done, but then you realise how much has come out when you empty the used water out the bottom :D

My Vax is actually a "Pet Vax" but does the job on car interior too.

just had a look on the detailing section and theres not to much on there about what products to use...

Ive got a multi purpose cleaner that would be perfect but with it being green id rather leave it incase i get green stains on my seats.. :whew:

not detailing here, search round the big detailing forums- just search for best car upholstery cleaner in google and you'll likely find all the reviews

Rug Doctor brings VRS seats up like new

My problem isn't dirt- my drivers seat is a bit 'boobly' and frayed. Tried a bobble remover thingy and not much luck, next step is the old dulled razor trick and see if helps

ive used a wet vac on my last vrs and some of the stains didnt come out the car pet so looking for something stronger that will definantly get rid of all the crap on the seats and the carpet.

No need for a PM, it was only two things!

Flash all purpose cleaner (use it with warm water in the Wet & Dry) with a stronger concentration for the stubborn stains anywhere, agitated with either a stiff nylon bristled brush, or soft detailers brush for the door cards.

All the plastics & leather were done with some Poorboys Natural Look on a microfibre cloth. :)

Fit black carpet and golf mk4 recaro seats. End of cleaning problems. Looks much better and recaro seats support you rather than letting you slip all over the place during spirited driving.

Definitely the best long term cure, what genius thought that white carpets and door trims were a good idea in a family sport hatch.

My thoughts exactly!

I am looking for some mk4 leather front seats

Each to their own like, but sod going with black carpets.. loses some of the identity of a VRS, I really like the white carpet & seat inserts! :)

Any know if you can pop the door card alcantra inserts out? Haven't had the card off yet to look
