My drivers door tweeter doesnt seem to work in my VRs. The previous owner said he had replaced the card, or some of the card or something so I suspect its just the wiring left unclipped. Is it easy to get to?

Ye it's simple, where the wing mirror adjustment dial is just pop the mesh cover off using a sharp knife but be gentle to slowly prise it away. You may be able to look down the hole to see if there are any loose connections, If so and you can't get access to re-connect you'll need to remove the door card.

If you have any, its better to use plastic trim tools, than a knife, as not to mark the trim.

I dont have any, but its probably worth getting some!

you should be able to get the door trim off using just your fingers, no need for any tools bar the star drivers

They're a good investment.

 

For only a few quid, they were a godsend for swapping out my HU and tweeters, as well as a failed reverse cam install.

 

Nothing looks worse than nasty gouges around your trim, from sharp implements.

Yep, ordered, but I bought a slightly fuller set, just in case! I do hate destroying trim, i only end up replacing it in the long run. I did manage to get the trim off using credit cards but the wire is off and im not dextrous enough to fit it without pulling the card off... bugger!

 

And I discovered the door handle is broken too. double bugger.

Very handy when you break these little buggers even being as gentle as possible!

oh they use these now do they, my mk 1 it was all screws and those really tight metal clip things that bent or spring across the drive. Ill get some!

they are very handy, i keep a bag in my tool box as i need to replace at least one each time i remove the door card lol
