Buying used Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi Yeti Lovers

I currently own a Skoda Fabia 1.2 plate 08 and want to buy a used Yeti 1.2 where is the best place to find a good deal? Shall I trade in at a Skoda dealer or is that more expensive? Advice on best way to purchase a used Yeti would be much appreciated! Thanks

Tracey

Hi Tracey and welcome.

Personally, I'd go through the Škoda network.  Dealers seem to get a knock or two here but most of them, I expect, are more than half-decent and know what's what.  Purchase prices might be a bit higher but, ultimately, you only get what you pay for.

God hunting!  It will be worth it

Hi Tracey.

There are some very good dealers in the Skoda network.

Some are sponsors on Briskoda.

Check out the reviews in the Dealers guide section, and don't be put off having to travel further afield than around Wiltshire, enjoy.

If you are thinking in terms of trade in then you should consider a Skoda dealer-they are in the best position to give a realistic value for your Fabia-if it is in good condition they may even seek to retail it-It is worth remembering that any dealer will have in mind resale of your fabia-in the trade at trade price or retail and they will all seek to make some return. Trading in is simplest and has the advantage that you drive in the old and drive out the replacement. You will be very happy with the step up!!

Preston Motors and Allams both operate on here, so that's an easy way of finding out some more info. Both in terms of your Fabia's value and also available Yeti options for you.

Happy hunting

I would always buy from a dealer, ultimately their reputation is at stake should something go wrong. You see enough problems with non franchise dealer car sales on these T.V. reality programs like Watchdog, The Sheriffs are coming etc. to feel convinced you would be getting a good deal. The dealer will have thoroughly checked the vehicle before taking it in, have the Skoda history  and the rest. As Brijo states, you may pay a little more, but you will be better off in the long term.

Hi Tracey,

A franchised dealer will know about any updates or re-calls on your intended purchase and, will know what margin they will have on your trade-in.

I prefer to purchase from a main dealer every time, if there is ever a problem I would then have better recourse through their head office, ie; Skoda UK.

Thank you everyone for your response, I will go via Skoda dealers and will be prepared to travel. Have already approached Marshall Webb Barnstaple today they seem to have regular stock . Your comments have been really helpful ! Will come back here when I've seen something I like to run it pass you all price wise! ;-) cheers T

Tracey,

My son received good service recently when buying a Fabia Estate from the dealer in Bristol, and if you could consider Swansea then many of us will recommend Sinclair Skoda there.

Another vote for Allams at Epsom

If you're looking at buying one that's still within warranty period, you could consider buying privately, maybe from someone on here who is otherwise going to trade in.

That way, you get the warranty, and (some) knowledge of the cars history (remember you can search all posts on here made by the owner ;) ).

And you're saving the considreable profit that the dealer would otherwise have made on it!

Good luck searching. Hopefully the 1.2 is in reasonably plentiful supply so it shouldn't take you long.

I'm still trying to find a used 170 for reasonable money, but they are few and far between :(

Hmmm?  I think I usually greet newcomers, either in Introduce Yourself or here?  Simply passing on the greeting that was given to me just about two years ago

Hi everyone

Thank you for your helpful comments !! Will definitely look to the dealers who have been recommended, this is really good to know. I have decided to get a Skoda Fabia Estate but which one? will have to change forum I guess? The Fabia Scout looks good!

We bought a s/h Yeti Elegance 2012 (Skoda pre-owned) from Meadens, Sway (New Forest) this week for 'er indoors. Good service, and good residual on 5 y.o. i10. Collecting in front of us was a customer from Cornwall. They must be doing well!
