Anyone else this wierd like me!

 

I'd rather I wash it that it get murdered by someone out the back of the dealers!

Yup I've done this loads of times, it only happened to me once and I knew they had scratched my car after they had serviced and cleaned it, because I had checked every panel before I took it in.

But I couldn't prove it and they refused to pay for the damage so I decided, I wouldn't let them clean my car again afterwards.

I've heard of this with a few people to be honest.

Yes, I do this every time. I've now found a great family garage in the sticks who don't mind me waiting about as they do x, y or z to the car. Additional bonus being that because they are in the middle of nowhere the cars come in dirty & they leave dirty as they don't own a pressure washer

I have a rear view mirror hanger and a dashboard sheet and a small one that gets stuck on the steering wheel.

Those stickers hangers etc are ace!

I bought the hanger off a guy on Detailing World last year. They are trying to get numbers for making more but nothing has come of it so far.

Due to the Washing department of my local dealer using Industrial strength truck wash and a sponge. they have been instructed

 

" DO NOT WASH MY CAR "

Very good.  I always tell the dealer 'not to wash my car' after work being done.

2 reasons, 1) I can see where they might have marked it    & 2) I know any dirt won't be rubbed in with their sponge.

I made the hanging signs!!Because the cost is so prohibitive I've not got around to making anymore as I need 100% guaranteed numbers to be able to place an order and with most group buys, the interest and the final numbers never match up.

Might make one tonight, and I took the **** when my missis bought a laminator.

Out of warranty so I have next to nothing to do with dealers but this used to drive me mad, the hangers are a top idea, also get them to write it on the job sheet before you leave it with them.

Guy who takes care of my car has an Astra VXR which is detailed to within an inch of it's life, it's just a big red mirror.

I'd have to pay him extra to valet my car

I've always asked the dealers not to wash my wife's or my car and they've always been really good about it, but the hanging signs certainly help.
