ebay surprises me again

Featured Replies

I've seen this as I said above. I remember that the paintwork wasn't in great shape, particularly the front end.

I do have to give credit for the interior though. The work put in and the imagination. I like the seats, colour and style.

But for me it's a long way from a show car and definatlely not worth £5,500. More like £4k max.

More unsubstantiated guesswork

How I laughed   :D

Glad you find if so funny, but recaro do some OE seats as well as there own brand, they do this for VW so odds are very strong that VW are using them to make the Skoda seats also, else prove me wrong and say who else made those seats.

And the only big laugh here is thinking that mistake of a near write off is a show car worth £5,500, AP spring, stage 1 standard shark map job, wow have you seen what can be done with the vrs, where is the real after market high end stuff worthy off a show peace,

Brembo Braking Kits, Serious Suspention kits like say Bilstein B16 or even better, custom tuning jobs bigger turbo kits GTB2260 with front end intercoolers, custom alloy pipe work and manifolds, injectors take your 168BHP and double it and you have the real deal.

Personally I would not be willing to give him more than £2,000 for it since I just think that interior is the most hideous thing I have ever seen inside a vrs and would want the price deducted with the understanding that it needs a new interior,

Twice as much as matey boy then?  :)

Not as much as me   :p

less than half :(

If I could, I would tag Ant in this thread so he could put things straight.

You're the one making the assertion that they ARE Recaros, so that's your job to show they are

Don't forget, Skoda are the 'poor relation' of VW, so it doesn't automatically mean they'll get the same kit

As for the bhp of a show car...............why? It's not going to be a Santa Pod drag king, that's probably more your cup of tea  ;)

I can sort that  :)

If a company uses recaro seats, they keep the name on them, knowing they are the best. It's a selling point. The Fabia seats are no way near supportive or comfortable enough to be recaros. They are bolstered yes, but there are other seat manufacturers out there

Yea I think £4k is fair considering there may be some bodywork that needs addressing.

I hope you've got some evidence to back that statement up, Charlie  :)

Plus to the gentleman slating the car; do you have a showing winning car?

Maybe not........but it's got Recaros, allegedly  :)

Firstly IBTL....

LOL, yeah mate there's loads of mint condition standard looking 336bhp 1.9TDIs out there.

In my actual experience the faster the Fabia the uglier it is. (Sorry Jason...)

There's a sea of difference between a performance oriented car and

a condition oriented car. Usually they go one way or the other.

That's me out on the subject... I'm just lurking to watch you get owned by Brimma

the singularly most argumentative git I've ever witnessed on Briskoda.

Good luck with that...

I'm sure you mean that in a nice way  :)

So they dont lift the bonnet at these shows and go, wow look here we have a standard black plastic boost pipe fitted to rubber 90% bend with the ends cut off to fit on the EGR delete with a Jubilee Clip, now there is something to see when sat next to a custom made Alloy pipe sweeping round to the front end where sits twin pass intercooler with the bumper grilled out to allow the intake, which would you rather be looking at in a car show?

Then you look at the suspension kits and notice break kits, AP is nothing more than a cheap[ sub way to get coilovers on there, not really worthy to show off as something that has that extra something to stand and go wow at.

I hope you've got some evidence to back that statement up, Charlie  :)

Yep, lots :)

After splashing out on a retrim I'm looking at replacement seats for track days. Maybe genuine recaros ;)

APs are made by kw, renowned for being one of the best suspension manufacturers

so they dont lift the bonnet at shows

You've seen under the bonnet have you.........or more assumptions

:wall:

Popcorn a' popping :D

This is me set for the next 15 minutes.

Have at it chaps!

To be honest mate, I would not even be tempted for a second swap my Vrs with that Silver scape out of the scrap yard, It may have never been to a show but its a project currently running at 198 BHP, has more mods, and better ones, and is just maybe one of the best kept 04 VRS condition wise on here.
