ebay surprises me again

Featured Replies

the front end drivers side is jacked up to give me more space to get to the lower boost pipe, I was just finished checking all the T-Bolts where nice and tight.

Don't think it's that, the headlights aren't quite level, like it's had a stroke. Limp crash bar hanging loose doesn't help.

Cut and shut job, defo

But on a more serious note, can you categorically tell us you have told your insurer you have hacked out a fundamental piece (not peace) of safety equipment (crash bar) and they still cover you?

Funny you should say that cos while I was fitting the intercooler i leaned on the driver side head light and broke the top 2 brackets that hold the screws in place, hence its hanging loose on the bottom screws alone flopping backwards, where as the near side light is in place still fine.

Kind of bodge jobbed it back together for now so at least its holding in place, not sure how it will go on with MOT like but will see when it get there still 6 months till then.

I thought Polo's were made in York by Rowntrees :( Every day's a school day on here :)

no crash bar and a potential MoT headlight failure. Who's your insurer and what do they cost fully comp?

In the spirit of this thread, I'm gonna self quote. Any answer appreciated. :hi:

And on an irrelevant aside, you sir have merited my 2,000th post! Bravo

Esure, £320 full comp protected no claims :)

if MOT fails that light then what the hell, will get new ones, besides I have seem a set that I prefer on here anyway, may change them for that reason alone even if it passes, would sooner stick it to the back of the que of things I want to do but if MOT forces my hand then will have to sort it out, but for now its not that bad its stable and fix in place, just not sure if its the correct place angle wise and the bodge job has killed my ability to adjust them in a simple way at least.

and for the record that pic was taken before I bodged it back into a fixed position.

Was that with mentioning the crash bar (or lack of) and the mods and power increase?

Wish mine was that low when I had my Fabia :(

Right so if they put your premium up by £320 for the crash bar what was the renewal total cost?

Let's leave Ant's car alone for a little while

Here's something you can really kick the **** out of  :)

I pay £235 to insure my S3 fully comp.

That's less than 88p per year per bhp

If it only had 198bhp I'd get it mended. .

Don't bring that big black and gold vajazzle into this Brimma!

Blummin' thread will end up as long as "School F.F.S:

I have stuff I'm supposed to be doing.

Its not chavvy or tacky, the intercooler job is completely hidden by the front bumper, and the bumper bar was taken off sprayed with anti rusting silver spray paint, and a couple of metal rods where cut and welded into place so that the other side of the bumper bar could be mounted to add stability to the intercooler mount., had tp remove the side of the bar to make room for the pipes, the to rods I used to connect the side you see in the pic back to the bracket on the other side angle to miss the pipes.

I may not be a stable replacement for use as a bumper bar but it hold the intercooler secure,
