What TDI have i got HELP!

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 06 octavia L & K and love it to bits! The problem I have is the log book says 1986cc now that’s 2.0ltr in my eyes but VAG engines are 1968cc? so whats going on here do I have a old 1.9 or a 2.0 its only got a 5sp box my golf has a 6sp box and is a 2.0 TDI ? The car is faultless like I said we have a 12plate golf and it is wayyyyy nicer to drive than that but not as fast (not that I care). But do I buy 1.9cc service items or 2.0????

What's the engine code on the sticker either on the boot floor or in the front of the service book?

As its a 5 speed I would suspect it is a 1.9.

5 speed almost certainly a 1.9 PD 100/105hp. All 2.0 PD 140's had a 6 speed box.

Agree it is 1.9TDI if it is 5 speed, which is actually 1896cc, and slightly confusing as the exact same digits make up the 1968cc of the 2.0TDI, so perhaps they have got transposed somehow on the V5 (as the 1986 is wrong on both counts!)?

The vin was wrong on the V5 for my car and the colour and model were wrong on the V5 for our Leon. So mistakes are not unusual.

Yes they can't even spell Laurin correctly on mine!

I think the dealers are responsible for registering cars and half of them would struggle to find key parts of their anatomy even with significant cartographic assistance.

Thanks guys looked in book and code is BKC? I love the car so don't care just would be nice to know for parts.

It's definitely a 1.9PD.

I have the same BKC engined 06 L&K.

The 2.0 PD140 was engine code BKD, so BKC is the 1.9.
