Featured Replies

its £215

the other looks more like an airbox induction kit -

Its a Carbonspeed carbon fibre induction kit, i have never heard of them before ?

its cheaper at £185

LIkely go for the K&N but not after power just want to sound a bit more throaty and heard the standard dump valve

I run an autotech, which uses a k&n filter.

Much cheaper than both of the above

I'd go for the Neuspeed induction kit as it's cheap and gives decent gains.

Why not go for APR Carbonio Intake? I've heard good reviews, it's what I'll be fitting to my Octy.

Am open to any options I ain't heard of . Only ever worked with k&n and pipercross in the past.

Anyone tried lagging the air intake pipes? You will get more air in and a slight power gain. You can lag the intake pipes for just a few quid. Whats the point of the intercooler cooling the air if it just heats up again on the way in.

Waste of money, no bhp gains or sound gains on the TFSI.

APR is almost £300. Going by past experience I think I will go for the k&n typhoon. As I said am not fussed on bhp gains

Is that a swirl pot you got on your engine ?

Where does that heat shield go on the engine bay, is it right next to the cone ?

It's a 42draft design catch can.

Heatshield fits under the pipe where the maf sensor is. Fits inter the 2 lugs the engine cover sits on

According to the eBay car checker it doesn't fit a 2009 octavia vrs ?? It's just talking rubbish I take it as the ad says for a k03 golf gti

Mines 06, can't see there being any diff between the 2.

SNH u running a standard dump valve or a aftermarket forge one etc ? Does the induction kit with standard dv give a good FC noise and a bit more sound on boost ?

I'm running a forge spacer and a rev G dv when it arrives. You can hear it dump and you get the flutter when changing gear. My dv is knackered at the min though so should be even better when the new ones on.

The Mk5 Golf gti is a Tfsi K03. The Mk6 Gti is a Tsi and runs a IHI iirc turbo. You are looking at the wrong intakes. You need one to fit the Tsi not Tfsi.

As well as the different turbo, the stock airbox on the TSI is different to the TSI. ITG's TSI kit pretty much comprises a replacement airbox that joins onto the rest of the OE pipework, whereas the airbox on the TFSI is part of the engine cover and the intake/induction kit replaces this kit entirely.

Waste of money, no bhp gains or sound gains on the TFSI.

What he said. Complete bloody waste of money. Furthermore, it's been copied several times now and available for less than half the price if you must have the bit of bling.

If you need a DV to tide you over I've got a rev D in the house? Sure we can strike a deal on it.

I'd still take it off and replace it with the G when it shows up or you'll be able to get a G in any VW dealer. IIRC they are about £38.

I've just logged my BDM intake (ITG Maxogen copy)

Previous stock box read 258GS, new intake reads 273GS. A 15GS increase.

Excuse the dirty bay.
