290k Octavia Replacement

Featured Replies

The integration of the audio and driver information systems does seem really slick on the O3, I'm rather liking it. I also considered the Superb 2, but decided it was a bit too large and a little too "old man" ish for me just yet.

Very good point, the Superb 2 is a crumblie carrier but, I'm glad to see their pricing is better now which does reflect somewhat on their outdated technology.

I cannot see the Superb being anywhere near as economical as the lighter O3.

To be fair, my old Berb, a manual 170CR Elegance Twindoor, averaged more than the official mpg which I think was 48.7 as I nearly always used to get over 50, with the computer sometimes reading over 60 on a steady run up the A1 to Newcastle. The Octy is averaging around 55 which is well below the official 67.9 but around 10% more efficient than the Berb hence saving £30 - £40 per month in fuel as I'm averaging 24k miles pa at the moment.

Well.... ive done it, ive made a purchase.

Ive shocked myself and i have ordered a Limited Edition Rapid!

I has a 1.2 TSI 105 Engine and it was advertised at £15630 but I managed to get it for £14,545.

Only comes in white but it looks the business and when it costs £14k - a car like this isnt to be sniffed at!

Cool. When do you get it?

I am fairly new to this forum and i have had a 2006 Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI 140 from new, i am now looking to replace it as it has just clocked 289,000. I am heading down to my local dealer on Friday to test drive the new Spaceback 1.4 DSG and a 1.6 TDI 105 but I'm dubious as they look too small. I thinking of a 1.6 TDI Octavia Mk3 possibly in a similar spec to what I've got already.

Any ideas what sort of price i can expect to be paying for a 1.6 TDI Mk3 Octavia, i mean i know the book price but are dealers discounting at the moment. Plus has anyone gone from a 2.0 TDI 140 to a  1.6TDI, how have you found it? Im dubious as i love the performance of the 2.0 tdi.

I can see myself ending up with a 2.0 TDI vRS :-)

Aaron.

290K where do you work, on the MOON? If you can afford it buy a VRS - you deserve the best motoring experience :)

Good choice, the Rapid was not big enough for my family.

289k?? Just about run in!!

That is great. I have seen it on the web too. Would love to see it in flesh. It does look mean.
