Nesting?

Featured Replies

Between now and the time I pick up the new car the garage will be cleaned from top to bottom.

Usually it's a tip and I'm a lazy git. But the urge to clean it in preparation to receive my new baby is too strong.

A bit like "nesting" when a new born is on the way. Is it just me?

I will most likely do all I have too in the garden as well to avoid filling my new car up with garden waste.

Not just you, im going to have to trim back the chamelia bush on my drive so I can fit the Octy 3 as the Octy is about 6 inches longer than my 3 series

Trying to type the above without it sounding like a double entendre was difficult

I have had to do some serious organising and tip runs just to clear the space to fit her in. When we bought the house in April last year, the rear end of the car port was a mess - just shingle, rocks and sand piled up against the fence, lean-to roof absent, downpipes draining directly onto the ground and flooding the garage... since then we've put a new roof in, soak wells and plumbing for drainage, completely paved the back end, put a side door in to the passageway down the side of the house, and I've mounted as much stuff on the wall as possible. The paving was designed specifically to fit an Octavia nose-in, so there's a low level of paving where the front will overhang. Still, it's going to be a tight fit, especially the width. I am scared of scratching the mirrors!

Does that count as nesting? Sure have spent a few hours on it. Funny really because we're doing the "real" nesting thing as well - and baby will get here before car!

I converted the single drive to a double to get the vRS and Monte Carlo on there - still only part way through.

Yep, I've gotta kill the over hanging council's tree too, Stump & root killer should do it, 1" wide 6" deep hole with a wine cork to stop the rain getting in & watering down. I doubt we'll see any leaves on that MOFO again. Not quite nesting I agree but, it gotta go.

Bloody hell, braver than I am.

Its a bitter almond tree, which contains a poisonous chemical called hydrocyanic acid (HCN). I drive over the fruits breaking them open for the school children passing to see/touch/taste, the Council will not remove the tree however, if it died they would not replace it with another poisonous tree.

Ha ha, we have all done this in the past.................

I wonder if that would work for that cat that keeps digging up my daffodils and crapping in their place? ;)

Digger is coming round friday to rip up the muddy patch I refer to as "the driveway" and to start the process of laying some heavy duty tarmac!

Especially timely seeing as they are double yellowing the main road.

Getting the car this Sat, so it didn't quite time up correctly. Still, it will only be a few days of roadside worry!
