The Citigo Sport is no more

Featured Replies

It looks like the list price has gone up by £100 too.

My dealer said there is a 5 month waiting list for Citigos as demand is great at the moment but said they haven't stopped producing the Sport.

Lets get a 130bhp version, as per the old VW Lupo, The UP GT is still planned.

Come on Skoda UK get of VW, as you did with the Fabia vRS mk1

Now that would be Real Fun and low cost and economical

My only fear about the up gt is the price. I can't help but feeling that vw will price it at close to 15k

Yeah but the Citigo version would be about £12.5 k.

Hopefully skoda will bring a vRS in at that price point, if they are allowed to make one.

I wonder what the increase in price, good sales and high demand will do the residual values?

The Citigo Sport has vanished from the Skoda UK Configurator.

It's still on the Czech configurator so it seems the Citigo Sport is another victim of SUK management decisions :(

Had a call from skoda today ordered mid Jan saying no build week yet but confirming the sport has been dropped and I'm having the last sport from there dealership

Can't have been on the grounds of popularity surely? I know this site won't be fully representative but around half the Citigos on the owners register here since the Sport went on sale seem to be that spec.

Seen a fair few round this way.

It could be like the Rapid Sport as they're only a limit edition.

Rapid Sport is a SUK homemade special edition though based on the European spec Rapid "Style Plus", whereas the Citigo Sport is a full-on Europe wide spec level.

I wonder if they are going to put the 75bhp engine in it, or possibly a Skoda version of the Up GT....

I did say it could be. I don't know. Just trying to find out why they've stopped them.

Maybe just to keep it a simple 3 car range?. They should offer the Sport bumpers as an option then you could in reality create your own sport in any colour and with 75ps if you wished...

Maybe a victim of its own success. VW probably got upset with Skoda nicking all its Up sales?

Could be, since Skoda UK are essentially an arm of VAG UK.

This is not a good read for me.

Last sunday my car was hit from behind while waiting at some traffic lights, despite the other driver saying they were going slower than 30 its been written off.

My insurance says a brand new replacement vehicle of same spec will be provided if in first year, but looks like that may be an issue with the citigo sport not being made.

I have to sort out the replacement this week so hopefully i can get some answers. I really hope I get one as the new clio they have given me is just horrible but have it until they sort out a new car.

Thats unlucky...

At least your ok though (im assuming anyway)

If you cant get a replacement, you might have to just put up with a plain old Elegance then :( :p

Yeah I'm fine, thanks anyway :)

Yeah a shame though as I loved the interior of the sport.

Fingers crossed..

Could you take the interior from the written off Sport?

That's a good idea. You could strip the Sport of everything :)
