Hi im fairly new to all this but could really do with some help!

 

Having issues with my 04 plate Fabia VRS and i am not sure what to do.

 

I was driving along in the bad weather the other day when what i can only describe as the engine making a sudden jolt happen, causing the ECU light to come on, the glow plug light to flash and the traction control light to come on.

 

Now this has happened once before but i got it back to my local garage who said nothing seems to be wrong and that it was hopefully just water in the electronics (weather was bad that say as well)

 

As its happened again i was just wondering if anyway has had this happen to them, and if so how they fixed it

If the lights came on then there should be a fault code stored. How did your garage check the car?

plugged it into a diagnostic computer, if i can remember correctly he said it was 3 things. 

 

- engine power issue

- cam power issue

- crank power issue

 

however he said if that was the case the ECU should have completely killed and power and i was able to stop the car,restart the car and then drive for 45mins back to the garage

I'm sure filling delicate electronics with water won't have any long term issues...

I would try and find out exactly what the fault codes were.
