Drywash Lincoln Brazilian Carnauba Wax

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I thought i would start a thread to post my findings on this wax here. As some of you will know I am back this week from travelling with work in South America. Whilst there I picked up a Brazilian manufactured 100%Premium Brazilian Carnauba Wax. Bit of an odd brand name "Drywash" as looking at the range, none of it involves waterless washing, I think this is just a translation thing. The wax I bought is called Lincoln.

The bumph on the tin says.

High reflectivity and protection

Easy to buff

Clean and deep shine

Yellow T1 Carnauba

No abrasives

It describes itself as a premium Carnauba wax developed for the most demanding detailers giving maximum protection and shine on all paint types. The formula uses only the purest form of genuine Brazilian Carnauba and natural oils thus giving outstanding performance whilst also respecting Brazils ecology. I do note the ingredients state some use of polymers also. Products main composition is 30% T1 Carnauba, with natural essential oils of I believe palm and coconut, humectants(keep the wax moist), solvents.

The wax has a pleasant, quite natural smell, it is definitely a hard wax, but to skim a finger over the surface it feels nice and oily too and you get a real hit of the smell when you do this.

I already have a few volunteers to try this, will be interesting to see how it fairs.

Few pics - to prove it happened :)

To get an idea of size versus a 250ml Dodo wax (you get quite a lot) should be great for getting your applicator coated, big surface area.

Well you sir for one as I have already promised you some, just need to arrange to get it to you.  Fellow detailing nut from the office next to mine, so that will see it on a beautifully maintained blue Golf R32 and offered another friend from work with a burnt orange 1 Series Coupé, might treat SWMBO's Dark Grey Yaris at some point and for variety my little bro will test on his Light Grey/Gunmetal/Silver Insignia.  If he reads this I may also get an offer from the owner of a copper/bronze coloured Yeti :)

I think a tin is half a lifetime's worth  and that is if I owned no other waxes, consistency suggests it will go on nice and thin too

Thankyou very much :sun:

I must get a detailing session arranged for the Spring

Oooh that all looks so good, makes me want to go out and spend!

Am I that yeti owner? Because I think so.... :-)

Trying to keep up with you guys

I cant even keep up!!

Sounds a bit like that stuff called 'Showroom Shine' I use it in and out, great stuff.

Mind you, with all this wet weather all the drying and washing is done for me..LOL

I agree, `Showroom Shine` is great stuff. I always have some on the shelf in the garage. I never use it on a dirty car though.

Is that the waterless wash stuff?

If it is........DONT!!!

I said above the name is Drywash but it has nothing to do with Waterless Washes. This is a hard carnauba wax, as the pictures show.

I have used 'Showroom Shine' for years, may I ask have you had a bad experience using it?

I once detailed a car that had been 'washed' with this hideous waterless wash stuff

It was an absolute mess!

Swirl city!!

Took me many hours to detail!!

So Yes.....a bad experience!!

I have to confess I have used this stuff, but not on my current car and not without a wash first, because that would just be insane!

Reminds me of colly

That's exactly what I thought.

Was it expensive? It'll be interested to see how it fares against Collinite price/performance wise.

Ha ha..Probably that's where you went wrong you don't wash the car in it, you apply it directly wiping-on with one cloth and removing most of the dirt, then buff to a polished shine with the another cloth, with the car being grubby/ dirty in the beginning.

Still as they say different strokes for different folks, no offence or insult meant/intended.

Not me...I know how its applied...I used the term 'Washed' loosely

I will NEVER use that stuff...as Ive seen the results

As an Amateur Detailer..I could never recommend it....even to enemies...Ive seen what it can do to paintwork

Good luck with it

I have to agree with chris, as a wash treatment I just wouldn't go there, it's common sense that no matter how many surfactants and cleaners there are in this stuff, you will still be dragging dirt across the car.

However like I said I am guilty of trying it and it did create a nice shine. But I only used after a wash.

It's a good job this isn't a waterless wash thread then!

Gone a bit off topic chaps :)

Hasn't it haha

If it can be done, could you apply to a "clean" panel and take a before and after pic to see if it has any filling to it.

Whilst all waxes will have some filling, others have a lot more, take soft99, that has serious filling as well as being able to withstand detergents and decent durability.

Also, does it like a double buff, double buff with a proper QD (rather than one full of polymers etc)

Main thing,

Enjoy and have fun!

I agree, `Showroom Shine` is great stuff. I always have some on the shelf in the garage. I never use it on a dirty car though.

Yesterday I managed to prep, wash and finish off my Jag with a spray of QD. I did everything the way most of you would see as correct.

Today I washed the Jazz (11 years old) and finished with `Showroom shine.

What do you think? (See attached pics)

Side by side, the Jazz looks far more `blingy`.

So, as I've already said, as long as you use showroom shine the right way...on a clean car...its fab.

Incidentally, its the best glass cleaner I've ever used...but don't use it on the windscreen as it contains wax

Regards

Mike.

I agree Mike...It has its uses as a QD after a wash

BUT as a Waterless product...I would never ever use or recommend it.
