Lack of power TDi

Featured Replies

hi all

could some shed some light on this, I have a 2001 Octavia Estate Tdi 110, the car has covered a mere 177k, but has now developed a strange fault, The car starts fine and its drivable, no warning light on the dash,

so the car starts fine and ticks over fine pulls off OK, and gets up to speed, but slowly, if you put your foot down it is flat no uhmph, but if I turn the ignition off then on again starting the engine the power is restored, some times when you pull off the speed starts to climb and its like a limiter kicks in and then changes its mind give a lerch and squeak as if something has released and normal service, this happened last year when the ambient temp dropped, so I changed the ETS thinking it might have been that, its a strange one

had a quick look with vagcom and it shows something about turbo over boost cant remember the exact code, I will check again but one of the soloutions was to check the ETS

any help or advice

thanks :'(

sticky vanes in the turbo. Search for Mr Muscle treatment.

Remove the vacuum pipe from the n75 to the actuator on the tuebo assembly.  Suck on this pipe and the actuator arm should move smoothly and not jump.  If is stuck and then suddenly jumps then you have sticky vanes....
