Bluetooth option missing from Bolero

Featured Replies

Noticed my phone had stopped ringing through the bolero the other day so checked the settings on the radio only to find the Bluetooth option as gone :dull:

Any ideas?

Cheers

This happened to me. Bluetooth unit under drivers seat was faulty on delivery of car when new. Cured by unplugging and replugging the power lead to that unit under the seat. Twelve months later same again but unplugging did not cure and new unit required.

Sounds about as reliable as the bluetooth units that Ford use. Removing power sometimes works, but then sometimes they just seem to get bricked - as has happened on my Focus. Ended up sticking a Parrott handsfree kit in, less hassle/cost than getting the proper unit working.

You'll have the same problem since the bluetooth module is under the seat and not part of the Bolero. Switch to columbus and your bluetooth will still be broken, the bluetooth module under the seat is where attention should be focused.

Hmm, Parrot at minimum of ~£90 plus installation, vs a second-hand VAG bluetooth unit* off eBay for ~£100 (without the wiring harness) which simply plugs in to the existing installation.  You pays your money and takes your choice I guess.

*  Part number 7P6035730.  Get the J or later version if possible; the earlier versions tend to be cheaper eg D or E tend to be ~£70 but may not have all the bluetooth profiles that the later ones do.

So you won't actually cure the problem!

Isn't your car still under warranty?

And have a 95+% chance of being in receipt of stolen goods. I do wish people would stop supporting the criminals.

Be wary where it comes from.

Have seen them look fine but the sat-nav struggles with the position of the car, the further you go on a journey the more out it becomes until it just thinks you are in a field somewhere while you're going down the M1.

Some faulty units are being passed off as OK as fault shows up later.

If it's not faulty, it's probably stolen. :(

Thanks Nick, I'll steer clear of those, I see amazon sell a cheap unit called a Koolertron - any experience of this? Understand that I need to rectify the Bluetooth issue locally

I used to have a BMW tourer with a head unit called a Dynavin, that had the Bluetooth built in, are there any units like this for the yeti?

Newer Amundsen models have the Bluetooth built in, be carefull which one you buy , because the older model has no Bluetooth.

If your car's no longer under warranty, buy a replacement Bluetooth module.

This will be the best resolution by far.
