Cheers, I've got the TSI and quite fancy this on my grille (tsi lettering) I used your link to find one and have found this one, do you think it will do the job on a red Monte or look a little tacky? Honest answers I don't cry easily [emoji6]

Postage was from China. How about this? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=251528762701

Surely worth a punt? I reckon it'll compliment the red aswell as the chrome/red compliments my black!

I saw that one but it's double the price and £3.50 postage. I will go for the £5 one and wait by the letter box lol thanks for the alternative though. Like you said, for a fiver it's worth a punt.

Lovely looking car mate. I would be happy with those mods on my Monte, with the addition of cruise control.

IMO I prefer the wheels before they were wrapped, I can't decide why, maybe it's because I have black wheels and really like the different look. Also, are they the old Skoda caps, why not the new black/chrome ones? I don't dislike them BTW just wondering.

Yeah the cruise is the next mod :D and also a multifunctional steering wheel :D Because i didn't find the new ones, but the caps are not the old skoda logo, but a black version :)

Just got the car back from a full correction detail to get rid of all the scratch marks the dealer put into the new paintwork. Also had it de-badged whilst it was there. Looks great now, like a new car should do! Got it done at http://www.waxing-lyrical.com/ if anyones interested in a detailer in Dorset. Just a small one man operation, but he knows exactly what he's doing and has decades of experience and is good value too.

I'll try again as I messed up the earlier photos and can't edit them now for some reason. Anyway after detailing and de-badging pics:

Watch out for your valve caps, make sure you've greased them before you fitted them onto the valves, I had some on an old car and they corroded themselves onto the valve threads over the winter and I couldn't get one of them off, almost ripped the valve off the rim trying to remove it.

The soft alloy corrodes with the salt and they almost weld themselves on, mind they were only cheap ones from FleaBay but it's food for thought. They car looks good by the way.

OK, thanks for the tip, I'll bear that in mind.

Don't think I've posted in this thread before, so here's a few photos of Fabio.

Brilliant Silver Metallic

1.6tdi 75hp

No options beyond floor mats and a spare wheel

Black interior

No mods other than a towbar icon_redface.gif

I am considering upping the horsepower a bit now it's out of warranty but we're looking at getting a VRS to go with it so may not bother.

We go on adventures in him-

DSCN0004-PANO.jpg

Go on holiday in him-

DSCN5071.JPG

Get stuck in him (we now run winters!)-

DSCN5407.JPG

Haul stuff with him-

10013354_10151982061645124_8753816495606

Have accidents in him (parked car pulled into us)-

1393518_10151721428995124_397841292_n.jp

And have disasters in him (wife put a pot of curry on the passenger seat)-

DSC_0171.JPG

We like it more every day, and it's nice having an unusual colour, I've only seen 9 others in the 2 years we've had him. Plan is to keep him as original as possible (I'm not really into modifying cars) and run him until he's scrap.

Sorry but if my missus did this in my car she would end up in A+E with bruising and lacerations. :peek:
