switching OFF remote control windows down

Featured Replies

Hi, anybody know what to do with vcds to switch OFF - holding down the open button on the remote that lowers all of the windows, as this morning I went out and all of the windows were wound down and all of the seats wet, the closest I can see is BIT 3 BYTE 5 is this correct ? cheers - Stuart

You could do this the other way round.......activate "Close On Rain". ;) ;)

If the button has been held down for any lengthy period, you could also enounter battery issues with the fob much sooner rather than later, plus it's also possible to put the key out of synch and you'll have to resort to manual lock/unlock.

Remind me where close on rain is?

If using vcds there are 2 settings I like to disable. Via the remote and via the door lock. The first because of accidentally pressing the remote, the other because it's exploited by Scroats.

If you disable via maxidot it automatically disables both.

Remind me where close on rain is?

Will screenshot tomorrow.

I do remember that it appears on 2 screens in the controller. You activate on one screen (tick boxes) and on the next screen you have to untick a box. (I recall you untick a "deactivate" box, so you deactivate a deactivation :S )

I'll know it as soon as I see it! ;) ;)

On mine, it becomes active once the key is removed from the ignition. If it's raining, within 60 secs (never timed it) the systems kicks in and the windows go up and/or all the doors click as if the window controls have been activated. If it's not raining at that time the windows do go up when it does.

However: If I've had the driver's window open and partially close it when locking using the keyfob, if it subsequently rains, all the windows open to the same gap as the driver's one. (Solved by not partially closing the window with the fob ;) )

HI, thanks for the replys, I would like to switch it off permanently as it could lower the windows and allow people to get into the car possibly all night ! The main dealers can do it so we should be able to do the same with vcds ! Cheers - stuart

You are looking for the setting Comfort Opening By Remote - it is in the log coding of the module. There are various settings for enabling the comfort settings by remote or drivers door key lock.

Greenshot (http://getgreenshot.org/ ) is my best friend :D . Everything would be much more complicated without it :dull: .
