Featured Replies

I have a 2011 suberb estate with columbus . It has 6 digit poscode search . I havnt got the hidden menu or acess to vcds to find out what firmware im running . Would it be safe to upgrade to 4012 and would my bluetooth still work and would I not have to get it recoded in vcds. Cheers

No one?

I have a 2010 Superb estate and upgraded to 4120 without any problems

I've just arranged for my local Skoda Dealer to upgrade my 2010 Columbus (that doesn't show the setup menu) to the "latest" firmware for £45. I'm more than capable of doing it myself, but I feel with the uncertainty of the versions breaking random features and/or bricking the device depending on the version of device - £45 is fine with me to allow them to shoulder the blame should anything go wrong.

There are usually two versions of the firmware - factory and upgrade. If you mount the .iso file (easy with Windows 7 onwards) then view the file 'VERSION.TXT' there is a line a little way down that says something like '#CD:P 0 0 5 . 5 4 1 . 9 0 1' the '9' indicates 'factory' and thus wipes all settings. An 'upgrade' version would say '#CD:P 0 0 5 . 5 4 1 . 3 0 1' with the '3' indicating upgrade which does not wipe your settings. At least that's what I read in a forum somewhere and it seems to hold true in the upgrades I've made.

I downloaded from rnsfirmware.com the very first one on the page. Couldnt find it any where else. Do you have I digit postcode search?

4120 unmodified version.

That and any map version from 8 onwards will get you full UK 7-digit postcode searches.
