You're thinking outside the box! Looks like a fairly straight car.You'd get the space and the performance for less than £3k. It shouldn't depreciate a whole lot more ( or it might appreciate maybe with some mods which I'm sure you'd do!). Nice engine too the 1.8T. If the car is half as good as they say on their website it wouldn't be a bad option at all. A rare car in years to come!

Is it fairly local, the 159k example? Worth a look for sure. Enough left over, if it did need a fresh turbo etc, a bit further down the line.

This looks a bargain and they'll move it.  Would buy it myself if it were a manual

Not bad. Looks like 140 engine, probably ex-lease car. Interior would clean up.

Had a few issues - so car hunt was on hold. We now have a Son to keep us busy though. He was earlier than his due date. I'm on 2 weeks paternity leave - then back to work for 3 days. Then 2 weeks holiday, and I'll be on a hunt to buy a car. Locally an SE estate popped up at £8500 with 118k on the clock.

I still like the mk1 octavia Vrs estate idea.
