That's some good going in 3 weeks bud. Some garages wouldn't be able todo that lot in 3 weeks.

white electrods on sparks indicates that petrol additive was used.

Mate I wouldn't like to think of the Labour bill in a garage.. even the cheapest.!

I'm a mechanic, not qualified but can do anything from spark plugs to engine swaps and custom conversions..

I'm in th  process of applying to college to get my papers as I can't get a job fitting due to lack of paperwork. Sad happening!!

I will fly a level 1 and prob a level 2 aswel to be honest..

Thanks mate

superb work. I bought bits for my car 12 months ago, that are still in the garage.

I am a compulsive car parts horder as well. I took apart a spare gearbox almost 3 years ago and it's been languishing at the back of the garage. I may have forgotten how it all goes back together again...

My next venture one day when I get bored is to strip the knackered turbo down I have here that I replaced with the idea in mind to fit a brand new cartridge when I can afford the spare money to make a brand new turbo (all parts cleaned up like New)....

I will do this one day :-D

Some of the numptys I've worked with over the years mate it must be fairly straight forward. Half the problem is the young kids can do it all on paper but are screwed when it comes to repairing stuff, they are literally just fitters. They're not even sure what or why they are fitting stuff half the time. Hence massive bills for diagnosis they just start fitting parts until it fixes the fault, this is very common in the dealer network as wages are poor and staff turn over is high.

If they gave more people like you a chance, people who can do the practical, maybe they'd have happier customers and more people would use them.

Having worked in many dealers for lots of manufactures I can honestly say I wouldn't willingly use any dealer, good specialist Indies are always far more capable and tend to have more knowledgeable staff.

Chris, I know boys that are fitters (been in jobs for over 5 years fully qual' d) that ring me when they are stuck to help em out... And they are the ones getting payed for doing this...  it sucks!! :-/
