New Superb owner - just want to buy a spare wheel....!

Featured Replies

Evening all

I pick up my 6 month old Greenline Elegance estate on Friday (yay) after 6 months researching the death out of the estate car market.

Anyway, pretty sure it has no spare and I want one.  A simple steel wheel and part worn tyre will do the job.  Question is....what size wheel do I need.  Yes, I know 16" - but I'm seeing lots of other measurements and the PCD numbers.....

Can anyone share the exact type of wheel I need...  There are loads of posts on here - but all state tyre size (which I know) - but none give the exact wheel size.....

Thanks all in advance

Brilliant, thanks Chan..... :hi:

You can pick up the spare wheel kit (ie the polystyrene section with the tools) can usually be had for about £40-50 from ebay.

See if road fits into spare tyre position, then perhaps buy another road wheel and fit a tyre as your new spare ?

I replaced my steel spare for an alloy road wheel, it sits a bit higher in the wheel well, but does fit with jack etc box sitting in the centre.

Thanks all

Didn't want to spend >£80 ish....I've got a jack & wheel brace but actually the 'kit' for £35 is a good price.  If I can pick up a second hand space saver off ebay for £45 or £50....I'd be happy with that.  Really wanted a full sized wheel but I've had 1 puncture in 10 years (last month) and the space saver did the job nicely....

As far as I am aware they don't do a space saver it is a full size steel wheel.

I got mine from the dealers it was around £130 mark.

That was the wheel and 205/55 16 tyre and the brace and jack kit.

Thanks all
