My Yeti got Damaged while parked, need Help.

Featured Replies

Hello, fellow forum members!
Today when i was going to give my Yeti a wash i noticed some scratches on the corner of the right front bumper (area just before the wheel well) and some scuffs under the right Headlight...

The damage must have been done while it was parked on the street near my workplace, but sadly no note on the windshield.
Now my Insurance will cover 90% of the cost but i still have to pay 10% out of my pocket,so my question is:
Do you guys have any rough estimate how much will this cost to repair , i can't stand driving around in a scratched car!
The scuffs under the headlight are quite shallow but the one on the bumper corner are a bit deep.

Thank you.

The lighter scratches round the front bit will probably mostly polish out.

If you get the bumper painted it'll only cost £150 or so.

Another option which would be a bit cheaper could be a 'smart repair', rather than painting the whole bumper they'll just do the surrounding area and blend a bit in.

That is if they have "smart repair" in Albania!

They don't have smart repair in Westminster...............................in fact, they don't have ANYTHING smart there :D

I have had a couple of jobs done by a company called 'Revive'......cost £90 plus VAT

Will they travel to Albania?

Graham....possibly not....but the price may be indicative :giggle:

Probably not Graham, but if there are no Smart Repair firms in Albania then at least the OP has a side line business to start  :)

My opnion, but tried Chipex on my former motor (Toyota Urbancruiser) and though it was utter rubbish for what it cost.

Tony

As pointed out, the advice offered here is of questionable value given the geographical circumstances.  Couldn't really see the point in asking but if it helps then that's great.

Coincidentally I've just, an hour or so ago, got my Hyundai back from a local repairer who has taken £70, all in, from me in return for filling and spraying  very similar parking scratches and small dents caused by a lady who DID own up to it and paid for it.

The bloke has a small, one car,  spray-shop and mixes the colour on the spot from the code stamped on the car.

Looks pretty much as good as new with a clear coat over the colour, of course.

I think he robbed himself, but he's done several others for similar money on neighbour's cars so must know what he wants.  He had the car from 9am to 3 pm today.

A little brake fluid on a rag will do the trick.

Whilst I did think the brake fluid idea was amusing perhaps a more acceptable remedy may be to rub some touch up paint into the scratches with a finger. Then lacquer over and then polish.

I have done this fairly successfully in the past but you will always see the join.

£150 at the max, my guess about £110.

Is there really a scratched Yeti in Albania?

Why do I think not?

Mmmmmmm....... and is that colour Cappuccino?

Would the wheel arch trim kit cover it?

And that's supposed to be a sarcasm? There are quite a lot of Yeti-s in Albania. And guess what, some get scratches too.

The comment was made because Notyeti was a troll on here, and nothing more than that.

Must have been a passing Porcupine.

A very "out of tune" one.

British humor!   :nerd::rain:

After just three posts I'm sensing interesting times ahead.
