  • It's funny when I drive in the Fabia vRS I do get tailgated occasionally by BMWs and other German cars. When I'm out in my BMW 120d it never seems to happen. Plenty of white vans, fords, vauxhall, sko

  • Yeah I just removed the cover to show him the switch, didn't touch the fuses. He ended up saying it's not worth it and stormed off. I'll drop into the police station to question if it's worth pulling

  • I hope the rozzer also pulled over a few Volvo's as they have the same lights too.    A prime example of EU legislation for DRL's not being communicated to the authorities who are supposed to be in

all police officers who cant read between the lines when someone is explaining that the car came this way from the manufacturers and therefore would have passed any VOSA inspection or MOT for that matter..

I think that you may have missed a salient point here; you don't have to look very far to find adverts for lighting options that are not legal for everyday use - e.g. "A range of high power and high wattage headlight bulbs primarily intended for off-road, race, rally and show use.".

In specific relation to the Fabia vRS, I believe that there are one or two people on this very forum who feel that the DRLs fitted to the vRS are not a particularly sensible design, eyebrow LED DRLs have been common for quite a while.

More to the point, I don't accept that abusing a Police Officer who is after all just trying to enforce sensible legislation, no matter how officious and ill-informed he or she may be is a sensible idea for either you or the next unfortunate person stopped for some minor motoring transgression - your mileage may vary ;)
