3ZERO GPS & Radar/Laser Detector

Featured Replies

I've got mine mounted on the dash with some double sided tape, I think I've got mine set to logic 1 too. I haven't changed it for years. You do get usd to false alarms, I haven't gotten used to the lazer alarm though - it's rather loud!

  • I think in most cases by the time the snooper tells you "Laser" you have been had anyway.

  • You do get false signals from various sources but you learn to read between the lines and this learning grows with experience. I had a lasers lock onto me and have had time to check / reduce speed

  • I heard the rumour about these things being made illegal years ago and i'm still happily running one with no problems from my local police.  I think they're a positive safety benefit to driving as th

Good to read this

Thanks

Thought I would share my purchase and install with other Forum members

Having used a very good GPS Camera Unit (Talex Alpha) for a number of years, I thought it was about time to invest in one that also picks up Laser and live camera beams..as well as GPS locations...I was caught out in November last year!!

After some discussion with others in another Forum, I settled on this:

http://shop.snooperdirect.com/product1400186.html

Question:

1. Has anyone else got one?

2. Can you share settings with me?

3. How did/where did you mount it?

Thanks in anticipation

Chris

Is there a charge for updates?

Another question:

How do I access the 'Logic' modes 1, 2 and 3?

I've read the manual and pressed the menu button and cant find it anywhere

Hi Chris,

Many thanks for your reply, after reading your thread I feel very inclined to buy myself one! It's also good to hear from someone else who is using the same. My only downfall is the £30 a year subscription charge, but I guess it's not massively expensive in the scheme of things.

I presume this one doesn't pick up police cars does it? (The radars in them) as that's another thing that can catch you out if they see you speeding?

Thanks,

Ollie

I only paid the yearly subscription once. A couple of months after buying the a snooper we went to LegoLand, so I naturally updated it before setting off. On the way down it missed loads of SPECS camera's. I emailed them when I got back and was basically told it was up to date! It also missed, and still does the stretch of the A1 between the angel of the North and the Metrocentre that went from national speed limit to 50mph.

In my opinion it's not worth paying it. If it was as up to date as they lead you to believe it would be.

It will pick up the lazer but at that point they already know your speed, the same with static vans, if they are getting a reading of a car in front then it may pick that up. It does warn you of high risk zones though.
  • 5 months later...

Has anyone tried the snooper laser pod. Seems it detects live camera's from vans etc

As above, its too late by the time it's picked up. The equipment is only active whilst in use, which means it's already pinged its target, it will only be active for around a second too

I haven't really got on with it all and so I will be selling it soon

Mine has saved me once so far this year - so has been worth the money - IMO.

It does get lots of comments when people are admiring the car; then semi-permanent

install looks really good and wiring all out of site and my home made bracket has cured

vibration issues.
