Video Clip Of Fast Octavia!

Featured Replies

Went to pick up my new wheels yesterday and fortunately, I had to meet the guy I was going to buy my wheels from, at a V.A.G tuner called ACE-competition. He was having some mods done to his RS there but thats another story. ACE have a nice red Octavia I think you've seen before. It's a 4x4 combi as a demo car for some of his products availiable for most V.A.G-cars sharing the platfor,. Som of those are a 340bhp conversion, Alcon brake kit, H&R coilovers and some other goodies. Whilst there I hade a rather long chat with Anders(the owner) of ACE-competition about tuning for my RS. After a while he asks me if I wanted a ride in his demo Octavia. Guess my reply was quite obvious. Anders, who is an x rally-x driver, took me for a 15-20 min spin at som intersting roads at crazy speeds. The car pulled really hard in every gear and reached 120mph in no time. It had plenty of power but still had a very smooth power delivery and lots of torque all the way through the rev-range. The chassie was very impressive as well. Maybe even more impressive than the engine. I have never been in a car that corners like that. It was just amazing. No body roll, hardly no slipping, just grip!

Some pics of the Skoda:pic1 pic2

An old Audi A2 from the IMSA series, 720bhp: one of two existing

Audi S1: 500bhp+

Audi TT, stripped: light weight?

Nice! :D

Nice, but if you think that's fast, check this...

Audi S4 4.2 V8

That S1 is awesome!.

Did you know just after group B was banned Audi announced it had built a 1000bhp rally engine. Which was then tried at Pikes Peak but it was just undriveable round corners.

Wonder how many

BBS CH (challenge) alloys.

They look like the 18" ones.

They look nice, on level with skodaw's khans.

My favourites are still the speedline turinis.

Does anyone know if changing the alloy invalidates any warranty, also because the car is under finance this prevents me from swapping the alloys doesnt it.

If you have GAP Insurance then you cannot mod the car; there isn't a similar problem with HP though. If you fit alloys which are not approved by Skoda then you could be affected by the fact that the warranty "will not apply to damage or defects due to ... installation of parts not approved by SkodaAuto." That limitation does not seem to be deterring Briskoda members from fitting the wheels of their choice!

First of all - Thanks :D

Second,as long as you kept the original wheels/tyres - I don't see any problem -- I know they would have a lot to say about body mods or chipping -- but don't see a problem with wheels.

When you say its on finance - is that lease or just normal higher purchase -- if it's lease you are totally knackered.

Utopia!

I suspect he has done more than just the coilovers. If you are ever talking to him again, could you please find out what bushes, ARB combinations he might be using. It also looks (very hard to tell) like the rear discs might still be stock, again I suspect not, but they don't look that different...cracking vid, real feel and nice gauge action...

Am I being really dumb here, or just picky? All I got was some footage of a speedo (calibrated in km/h) which shows an Octavia can attain a speed of around 150 kph or just under 100 mph. What am I missing?

A stopwatch? rolleyes.gif

Looking at the video it goes from 85kph (53mph) to about 155kph (96mph) in roughly 10 seconds. I'm still not sure what the point is. Chrille - please explain?

Looks more like 180kph in the later part of the vid, but the point is: this Skoda is faster than most(all?) of the briskoda members cars. Thought it would be of interest for some people to get a hint on how it performs. Or is there anyone with a 340bhp/500nm Skoda on Briskoda?

All bushes changed to very stiff ones and the rear suspension link arms(?) has been modified to adjustable ditos. Arb meaning? I think the rear discs are upgraded as well but not sure. If you check the bosst gauge in the vid you can see it peaks around 1.5-1-6 bar.

Oh, anti roll bars are surely upgraded. Think most supension parts are from H&R.

I guess you had to be there .... I'm sure it's a cracking car!

ARB=Anti-Roll Bar.

Thanks! It did make my stock RS seem to corner and accelerate as an -84 Chevrolet Caprice ;)

Ah - the Chevy Caprice (Classic) - the standard company pool car during some of my trips to the US - always tried to get one of those rather than those dreadfully dull Tauruses - Tempos even worse
