iPad in Citigo?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to figure out a neat and easy way to install an iPad in the Citigo. Not anything permanent, but sort of a place to throw it in when jumping in the car and so that it would charge and play audio as well.

Has anyone done it? Any ideas? Any thoughts? (yes, even negatives)

Here is a pic of it just stuffed there, and sort of what I would like to achieve but so that it would stay there and charge and play audio.

Could you use either a RAM mount or a Brodit mount?

Placing it so far down could takes your eye off the road. The Rossers would not take kindly to the distraction it may have caused if you were in an crash?

To be fair, the top half of it at least is no further "down" than where the Amundsen screen is on the Fabia - give or take.

Those RAM and Brodit mounts looks good but not what I want. For example I have a case on the iPad so most of those mounts just don't work.

Regarding being lowdown, it's thru, if I have the gear lever in 1st, 3rd or 5th its in the way of the screen. But I won't be looking at the screen much anyways, mostly charging and music and some other driving apps like logbook and only occasionally navigation.

Here are a few attempts trying to watch(listen) to Olympic ice hockey in rush hours traffic :D (No I don't watch&Drive, but when standstill)

You want music and occasional navigation. I've got to ask what's wrong with the PID navigon and music on an SD card, or am I missing something.

In the UK you would still get done by the cops when stopped?

Totally off topic (sorry) but I noticed in your photo on your speedo the 30kmh and 50kmh marks are in red.  We don't get that in the UK despite the majority of our residential roads being 30mph, I find it really strange that the speedo is only marked in 20mph increments.  Those red marks would be really useful over here!

Nothing wrong, but I dont have the PiD navigon and got quoted 550€ for it installed(?!). And I use logbook apps, spotify for music etc so ipad could be cheaper and better for me. But i am open to ideas and suggestions since ipad has its limitations aswell.

Strangely enough, when you are stuck in rush hour traffic you are still 'driving', so you'd be done

Yeah well, aslong as I dont endanger anyone or anything (ie. Being stationary) I dont really care much what the lawbook says.

:) lol yeah, I'm not perfect, atleast not when olympic icehockey game against sweden is on the line.

But just so that it is clear, I'm not planning on watching TV on the iPad and thats not why I want it installed.
