Octygone I'm going to stick my neck out here and say this is not all about fuel costs ;) I don't really think you have really taken to your new vRS.I'm part guessing from previous posts.

I can understand you miss the diesel driving experience and I am lucky in switching batween Jane's diesel lump and my petrol vRS when I want.It is certainly a totally different drive and in all honesty,to get enjoyment out of the petrol vRS you have to be driving it in a very spirited manner. When you do the grin factor is massive :D

The diesel though, the fun is there all the time and I reckon thats what you want to get back too ;) .

This post is not to go off thread or start a petrol/ diesel debate.Just think you are a diesel man at heart.I am probably totally wrong but I reckon there will be a 2.0tdi on the drive soon :D

the other thing you now need to consider is the cost of changing cars offset against fuel costs. its viscious circle that one. but if you lots and lots of miles it'll be worth it. you need to think of the money you would lose through going from you PD130>vRS>PD140 chances are you will lose a fair chunk of money unless you bought a bargin or sell for a good price.

unless he fancies going back to the PD130 and finds someone who might entertain a straight swap.....:rubchin:

Mind you, I doubt he'd want to lower his standards with a VW.... :D

how do they fit

At my station, we didnt have the 'p' bit. But we did think about that in the planning and so can put say 105p.

If I remember I'll take a piccie and put it up later just to prove how frightening it looks

I'll fill up today and fill some barrels of derv to stock in the garage methinks. Get it cheap, and use when its all going high.

Erm, kinda naughty, but if you got a derv, couldnt you run it on red? I mean, not that you'd want to as its tax eavasion, but....

You can run on RED, but it leaves a dye in your tank, so if you get stopped they can still fined it.

A farmer 'friend' had a lucky escape as he ran his ford on red, went to a farmers market, and was stopped on the way out by vosa with red in his tanks all he said was "that the wife must have filled up from the wrong tank back at the farm" he got away with a

Well, before the prices go up too much I gave the jag a good filling at 89.9ppl. I wonder how long it will last? Hmmmm.... At less than 20mpg.... = :(

Don't know much about LPG but I had a long chat one time with a taxi driver on an expensive airport journey. He was driving an Omega 2.5 Petrol with LPG conversion. He said it was great cost wise. MPG was much reduced but LPG only cost about 25p a litre then.

He said he regularly had to switch back to petrol when he tried to negotiate hills with a full car as the LPG just doesn't produce the same power as petrol. He also said that his insurance took a fairly hefty jump too. He said he was going back to diesel next time.

Don't think he was too worried though cos he charged me
