VRS seats?

Featured Replies

What do you think of the standard mixed leather/cloth seats as opposed to the leather?

Comfortable material to drive in?

Harder wearing than the leather?

I really wanted to spec full leather as I've got young children and I think it looks much nicer than the slightly cheap looking cloth used on the standard seats.

But then I saw a demo at Warrington skoda with full leather and 3k on the clock and the sagging of the leather on the centre cushion was awful. In an instant I knew not to get it.

It's a tough call, pros and cons. Standard cover catches very easily too and doubt it will wear well

Well 4500 miles in and my standard seat are fine. I've not noticed any catches and that's with wearing jeans and uniforms.

The seat backs do see to attract more than their fair share of muck and dust from the wee ones shoes though!

I actually prefer the cloth to the leather I had in my x-type. And on that note the Jag leather look good despite being 8 years old, albeit slightly shiny. In contrast the leather option does look pretty poor from new in all the pictures I've seen.

I'm getting full leather in my vRS due to having a little monster (soon to be 2 of them) & the long haired General stated Leather was the only option for us.

I hope they don't sag like mentioned above otherwise I will be mightily ****ed off!

Have half alcantara half fake leather in my Superb which has worn very very well, so I am a bit miffed Skoda opted for cloth instead of Alcantara.

Only time will tell if the leather is pants.

PS: how do you find the green paint? Looked horrid on the on Skoda Uks on line configurator, however that pic of yours looks pretty good. Any more pictures?

First time I've had 1/2 leather - seems a little thin to me, but then again the only other leather seats I've been in were in an old Merc, which was thicker than a bikers jacket.  I suppose they are treated and backed onto fabric or something for strength these days so can get away with thinner actual leather.

1,500 miles in and I'm loving them, :)

It's not mine - borrowed while I wait. My favorite color is blue although the green does look great

From experience Skodas seat trimming in anything other than cloth isnt much to write home about.

Ive already noticed on my 400 mile Elegance that the alcantara material on the seat base lifts slightly away from the foam when its been sat on, a quick rub with ones hand flattens it but it makes you wonder how it will be in a few years time with alot more mileage on it.

My old MK2 vRS had full leather and after 11.5 miles the drivers base had bagged a bit more than I expected and needs regular leather treatment to keep its matte finish.

However you look at used Mk6 Golf GTi's/R's with full leather and you find their leather stretches/bags and goes shiny too so its not something thats just limited to Skoda.

To be fair if you want really high quality leather nowadays you have to buy a very expensive car which lets face it a Skoda is not.

My father in law has a v nice 61 plate E350 CDi Avantgarde which would have been a 40-odd K motor and that has an artificial leather interior...though arguably it looks as good as the day it was new....suppose that's the difference.
