Going back to Valeting

Featured Replies

Hi Guys so 3 years ago i stopped my full time job as a car mobile valeter/detailer and joined a big alloy wheel refurbishment company. Since i quit the valeting i never seemed to do any more cars again. Now iv decided to get some equipment back up together and start again to mainly do private work on weekend and evenings when the weather is better. Now i was wondering if people could let me know some of the stuff i would need like equipment the main chemicals and polishes glazes etc. as iv completely forgotton the whole process and stuff to use so be appreciated if people could help me out and also let me know the steps on cleaning a car and what to use. Cant belive in the 3 years of not cleaning car how much i have forgotton and with so many new stuff coming out aswell.

Many thanks.

Sorry, but how do you forget the steps to cleaning a car?

Autosmart range is your friend...

When i used to do it full time i used Autoglym on alot of things. Iv heard that auto finesse are now a very good product to use anyone use there stuff and can recommend any of there products

Autosmart have some great products and are geared up for large or small quantities of products for both business and recreational use. Tardis (tar remover is one of their best and well known products) as well as G101 (all purpose cleaner for, well, all purpose cleaning I guess). Also 3M have come along leaps and bounds over the last couple of years or so with their product range.

If you check out Detailing World there is a massive wealth of information and knowledge of products and experiences. No question is too silly and links to videos on Youtube to help refresh the mind and see some 'in life' usage.

As stated above Detailing World may help.

But also via DW you may get directly into dealer and supply chain which could certainly sway you in terms of start up costs etc.

As an example.... Matt at Autosgleaming dies an interesting detailers range in Malco products. Big in the US, but less so here.

Once you are up and running you will have more time to test/check product performance.

Hope it goes well anyway - good luck with the business venture!

Recommend you arrange to meet your local Automsart rep to things started, excellent bulk products that work very well.
