Contemplated doing this DIY but then decided not to. 

 

Just got back from having a "Mufflerectomy"

 

I went to Advanceflo exhausts in Halifax.

 

Sounds a lot better now more like a petrol engine.

 

Cost was £126 but this is because of the tip I chose (as close to OEM as possible) I was quoted £60 +vat if I wanted to keep my original tip.

Sounds more sporty but not massively different.

 

Deffo a deeper sound but I wouldn't say it was much louder.

That looks exactly the same as the standard tip lol. I'd of paid £60 amd used the standard tip if it was me

He wanted to block one side of the original tip off so I decided against it.

The tip I have now is slightly bigger than oem.

Paid £60 with new tip

As that tip off Demon Tweeks from Powerflow is £83 with VAT.

Love the OEM Look! i would defiantly go for that.

Their not a power flo dealer there a local independent as far as Im aware.

The tip is £52 on tailpipes uk and they charge me £45 for the tip £60 for the rest +vat £126.

You could get it cheaper but Im happy with what I got for the price.

Should mention it Revs more freely now, felt strange at first.

The nearest one to where I live wanted £120, I contacted another one that was about 7 miles away and they did mine for £60

Should mention it Revs more freely now, felt strange at first.

I've noticed that i'm getting slightly higher MPG since having mine done, more to do with the way I am now driving rather then the exhaust but it definitely feels a lot smoother when going through the gears

You can kind of hear when you don't really need to change gear instead of just shifting up a bit too early like you may normally do when the standard exhaust

My charge was mainly for the labour, he said choose any tip you want and there were about 30 there to choose from, maybe business was a bit quiet and all those tips and backboxes were just sitting there for a while ..

Plain oval tips are quite a lot cheaper,the one above with twin round inserts is what I priced up

That's the exact one.

So lived with this for a week now.

 

Engine definitely revving more freely especially at the top end

 

Exhaust noise seemed to be louder at the front of the car before but now it feels like most noise is coming from behind but it may just be because it's more even.

 

SWMBO has changed the name of the car to Barry (Barry White) because of the exhaust tone but she does like to exaggerate!

 

All in all I'm liking it
