remaps for vRS

Featured Replies

been thinking about getting a remap and would like peoples opinions and experience on having a remap. the recommended places and what to avoid. my fab is an 04 acz currently on 118k. pretty good history and pump and cambelt was done early last year.(I brought it end of august 13) iv been looking on the web at remaps and some claim to get up to 180bhp etc. thats sounds great an all but id rather go for a map that isnt gonna finish the car off in a week or two or getting a new clutch every month. are there and maps that can gain more bhp and focus less on the torque? more progressive through the rev range? seen some maps go for economy and say around 160bhp which seems a safer bet. my last car was a 1.6 mk5 fiesta zetec s which I spent too much on with new management/itbs/cams etc etc. the tdi seems a better way to go for instant power gains without spending the big £. any help would be great. Cheers guys

I have personally had great experience with revo maps on the 130pd engines.

I have had three now, but what I would say (probably obvious) if your clutch is worn, it does speed up inevitable death. But then any extra torque or power from any map would do that.

The revo maps are personally very drivable and usable power, obviously as with all maps there is a spike in power at the boost range. But all in all a very pleasurable drive!

Maps vary from 160 - 180 bhp and 275 - 300 lb/ft.

My old Ibiza fr tdi was mapped to 167bhp and 301lb/ft and was great to drive. Perhaps not the smoothest but did the job. Had it mapped at 16k and sold the car at 44k with no issues.

Where in West Mids are you AJP?

We can offer you a Shark Performance map to approx. 170hp for £249.

If you want to pop over, we're only in Telford so not too far for you

No problem mapping for high up BHP and low down torque.

I offer a dual map setup, switchable using VCDS lite. Normally offer a low torque map and a high torque map. Peak BHP not effected. But can tailor to however you like.

sounds interesting. what kind of price is it and what kind of figures are we looking at? where are you based?

I can vouch for this map. I had these maps installed both with egr delete, launch control and left foot braking and I've not took it off the high torque map since he uploaded it it really is that awesome. Smooth power that just pulls. He uploaded it at about 120k and at nearly 130 it's spot on and I'm still on the original clutch and turbo. I'm having it on a dyno tomorrow so will have figures and graphs but sadly I've not got a lead to do a run on the lower torque map too

Use Faboka :)

I'd highly recommend Faboka too.

Nice one will be helpful for others to have figures and graphs. Do you know how to change or if John reads this can you pm me again please

R-Tech or shark my maps of both these companys have been great

Go to Ant, he is a top guy and will look after you :)

Had my old vRS done by him and it was great!

I'll vouch for Ant at AP too. He's a very professional guy and an authorised dealer for Shark, whose maps are known for being easy on the clutch and turbo.

I ran one of their Stage 1 maps for a while before I went hybrid and was impressed!Wasn't much more smoke than standard too I might add!

sounds good and not too far to get to. is mpg any better?

It was about the same as it used to be. I'm now at full stage 2 and don't notice any less mpg than as standard.

Technically, the car should see a slight increase in mpg, as the extra torque allows the car to get up to speed easier. In reality you'll probably use the extra power a bit more, so it'll probably just be about what you're getting now.

It will be the same as mine, soft code 102/105. ;)
