Battery disconnection

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Having read various threads about connecting phones to the Columbus system, still can't get any joy with my note 3, I was just wondering if disconnecting the battery would return the system to factory or not.

If I did, is there any special things that need resetting once reconnected? ie windows need to go down and up to set them?

And I also guess that I would lose all the songs the previous owner stored on the hard drive.

what phone kit have you got?

I wouldn't disconnect the battery - at least not at this stage. There is a factory reset facility in the Columbus under 'SETUP -> SYSTEM -> Factory Settings' where you can reset selective functions or the whole lot. I'm not sure if even that would erase music on the hard drive, certainly disconnecting the battery wouldn't.

Disconnecting the battery will do nothing, as when you reconnect it the existing settings will be reloaded and you may need to got to a dealer to override the radio code. If your car is before a certain date it will have an old bluetooth module that only supports RSAP connections, so you'll need to enable remote sim mode on your phone.

I see your superb is 2009, so its very possible it has this older module. RSAP is only supported on the very latest versions of Android, and your handset must support the RSAP bluetooth protocol.

This is all I get when I go SETUP>TELEPHONEPosted Image

After that, nothing.

Did SETUP>SETTINGS>FACTORY SETTINGS, still nothing.

Looked at the phone while it was

Connecting and it asked to allow rsap so I did. Maybe I need to update the control unit under the seat?

The phone is only 3 months old so should have the latest of everything on it. No idea how to look into the phone to activate sim allowances lol.
