Beggars belief. New pavement!

Featured Replies

Anyone else from around here noticed..... (you really couldn't fail to due to the chaos it's bringing due to 4 lanes now being down to two) )..... whilst they construct the nice new completely dug up and re-furbished pavement over the last few weeks/months adjacent to the A41 in Backford, Chester?

Probably costing hundreds of thousands. :@

The road/s is/are falling to pieces and these incompetent baboons and chimps have been let loose with OUR money to create a masterpiece for the general sheeple to walk and presumably cycle on.

Can't  remember the last time I actually saw someone walking along that 1 mile stretch tbqh.

I'm flamin' blazin. :@

I'd like to know where these planning lot graduate from, it seems they all have the same ethos:

Inconvenience, unnecessary, expense.

As you say, footways where there is no demand.

I'm sick of mini roundabouts and traffic calming measures... and sign after sign telling you a sign is ahead. Maybe they're there to distract you from the awful condition of our roads.

While I'm ranting, don't you just hate new housing estates where the main through road twists and turns like a rat's maze and there are dozens of similar offshoots like a fractal pattern.

I don't live in one thankfully but I know someone who does and quite frankly the effort required to navigate there puts me off visiting. I'd hate to be late for work or return there after a hard day, I'd be suicidal!

Compare that to the estates built pre 80s, fairly straight forward access.

It seems we are hell bent on slowing down traffic and reducing efficiency wherever possible, increasing journey times, increasing pollution as a result and generally frustrating road users.

Apologies, it's not been a good morning and your post woke the monster within!

Unless the apex contains a solid object its more of an advisory line for the sheeple drivers

Just like this:

Give way to oncoming vehicles my a**e

Or this:

Completely offset into the housing estate, and a straight road on the other side, yet they put a kerb out and a signpost there for no reason, the signpost could go at the other side of the footpath. And people still break when going across.

And here:

They blocked the road, diverted all traffic right round by another rout (a few miles longer than just cutting through the estate at the top of the hill where everyone that knew the rout went) for ages (I think it was supposed to be 9 weeks, but it rained a lot so it was extended and then when it was finished they had to come back to it again) built another bridge and a new wall on the right hand side of the existing bridge too, what for? The footpath. and the bridge is just wide enough for 2 cars to squeeze through now, and it has a pothole that you have to hit if you're going towards the hill and there's another car.
