Nice car and nice back-drop in the pic!

Great looking car. My preferred VRS colour was white with black pack and anthracite's, but my wife made me choose blue instead.

Nice, and yes, nice back drop too!

How does the NZ VRS spec differ from a UK one out of interest, anyone know?

Hmmm.

So,

Electric tailgate

Power fold mirrors

Puddle lights

Park assist

Silver roof rails

Sunset glass

Coolbox in armrest

Cruise control

Double sided boot floor

Colour maxidot

Columbus

Partition net

Rear curtain airbags

Crew protection

Hmmm. Now I want to immigrate.

You can import one to the UK if you like. Steering wheel is on the correct side, you'll avoid NZ taxes but will need to pay shipping and UK Import Duties. You may even save money in the process and get a better spec.

I wanted to move to NZ even before I saw they have better specs than us :D

I'm not really sure.

One thing I noticed today was that my exhausts are split left and right where I've been seeing a lot of pics of exhausts both crammed to the left in other parts of the world.

Here is a NZ spec list if it helps: http://www.skoda.co.nz/sitecollectiondocuments/pricing%20and%20specs/octavia_rs_specifications_december_2013.pdf

Thats not a spec thing. TDI has a standard twin pipe exhaust on the left hand side hidden behind one of the "fake" outlets; the right hand side is just a fake outlet.

The TSI gets a proper twin exit exhaust either side that sits behind each fake exhaust trim.

Its a throwback to how the Golf GTD & GTI exhaust pipework is configured, a GTD has twin exit on left and the GTI single exit both left and right.

Now you tell me!

The list price isn't far off ours and the options (those that are left) are either cheaper and way more. I wonder if the boss of Skoda NZ can be tempted to take over the UK mob?!

Nice car and pic - have fun

And possibly get it quicker :giggle:

Pypsyp, ah, that makes sense.

Mr Grump, it's about a 6 month wait for a custom spec RS here. When I ordered mine I was told they had one exactly the same spec but in liftback (I wanted the station wagon) that was on its way. I decided that the loss of 20L boot space was worth it and nabbed it. My Octy liftback has more bootspace with the seats up than a Subaru Legacy station wagon (one of the candidate cars for me) has with its seats up and so I'm pretty happy. As it was, when I nabbed the car it was just passing through the Panama Canal and it took almost three agonising weeks to cross the Pacific plus another week for the car to clear the dock, PDI, registration and grooming. I've discovered that having to wait for something you really want is a pleasure of its own!

Also, Skodas aren't very highly thought of here in general. Everyone remembers the old clangers and we didn't have the resurgence that the UK did in the late 90s. Their loss I say.

Yesterday I pulled up outside a cafe and a couple of guys were admiring the car when I got out and commented that they'd heard about this new model but never seen one and how long had I had it. "Oooohh, about four hours", I said trying not to be too smug but failing miserably. :)
