If you buy cree leds as a reverse light buy the ones that got leds around them otherwise the reflector chamber will not be as bright.

Im abit wary of ebay bulbs, cos i bought some interior ones and one of them started being extremely dim not long after new.

Not too much of a problem for interior, bit of a pain for the exterior though.

All my LED bulbs have come from EBay, one of my interior bulbs did the same but the seller sent a new pair FOC.

The CREE bulbs with the LEDs around the sides would be ideal for the reversing light but they're a bit pricey for what they are though.

Haha. Youll have to teach me a few tips of the winner trade!

Just reporting back with a quick update.  All of your replies gave me a lot of food for thought and eventually I bought these lamps:

I put one in the rear fog and one in the reverse.  I'm really impressed with the improvement in the reverse light.  It would be really great if there were 2 reversing lights but beggars can't be choosers can they?
