New to this forum but got a water ingress problem

Featured Replies

Hi, im new to this forum and yous have probably had this question over and over again but ill ask anyway.

I got my octavia vrs 2 week ago and have only just found that the drivers front and driverside rear footwells are soaking. The dealer resealed my doorcards on both front and back but i dont think its made any difference, is there anything else that will cause this?

Cheers in advance

Stuttle under the front wipers fills up with leaves, dirt and dead insects and blocks the drainage holes at either end

Spot on BrownBarge.

and dont forget to clean out behind the wheel arch liners wile doing the scuttle panels :)

plant some flowers in all the lovely compost you'll get out  of there....

that way as this forum starts to take all your money in upgrades and mods,

you'll have some pretty to appease the missus with ;)

Mine has just started doing the same, my scuttle panel is clear, so just cleaned out the cack behind the wheel arch liners again today. Also noticed a foam pad thingy that fell down under the drivers side liner, can`t find out where it goes, so taken it out for now.

Have to see if this works. *crosses fingers* :S

As mentioned above common places for leaks are under the panel at the base of the windscreen. I think it leaks round the pollenfilter housing or through the rubber grommet for the bonnet cable. Also though, I've had leaks through the door membranes. These are glued on from new but mine had just come away along the bottom. Also check door seals and drain holes around sunroof if yours has one.
