Honeycomb Grill

Featured Replies

Looks nice but seems to be a lot of work. Didn't see any owner pics yet. You could be the first briskodian... tempted ? :-)

Just curious for now. Spotted this whilst about to purchase rear door sill protectors.

Have to sacrifice the VRS badge?

Edited by Steveh3

Don't forget the grill and bumper are all one part on the O3.

Getting this grill could be a real pain to fit.

and an even bigger pain to clean once each segment is filled with dead flies in summer.

Well I've ordered one anyway. I will overcome the issues when I get to it. My rubber mats have been dispatched but I got an email saying the grill wont be dispatched till early april.

And I will clean it with a pressure washer. Lazy clean

Can't wait to see the result ;-)

Have to sacrifice the VRS badge?

I think that there is a VRS badge for the front grille that can be fitted using a backing plate - although the picture online isn't the Mk3 VRS logo (green 'V' rather than grey 'V').

I'm sure that if you get it fitted it will look the Bees Knees.

I'm buzzing to get that on order......

To fit, its a bumper off the car job and all the alignment issues putting it back on again once the new grill is in place.

With the enlarged openings I would not want to be using a pressure washer. The radiator and aircon condenser are right behind that grill and the last thing you want are bent fins on them. Not only will they look ugly through the grill, but also impede airflow to the main radiator behind the condenser. Also dont overlook the larger openings mean more dirt, stones and other debris could damage or hole the condenser.

30,000 miles in my impreza with a fmic and that never had a problem.

I will adapt my cleaning when I get it. I'm not planning on killing the car quite yet. And does the lower honeycomb grill not have stuff to be damaged beyond it?

Seems you do have to remove the bumper if this image is correct...

Well that should be fun. Maybe a few hours work rather than a few minutes. I will take plenty of pictures for a guide when I do it
