Morning - new Yeti owner from Helsinki

Featured Replies

Just wanted to introduce myself: I'm an Englishman living in Finland, married with children, dog, boat, mortgage, Honda snow blower etc...

We've been running Subaru Outbacks for the last 8 years as the family wagon, and have just agreed to sell the faithful old flat four turbo diesel and buy a silvery blue 1.8TSI Yeti 4x4. I hope I'm not going to miss the Outback, but as compensation I've already got the Yeti booked in for a remap.

all the best, MT

Hello MT  :hi:

I'm sure you'll most likely miss the Outback, but compensating is a good thing

I went to look at an Outback last week.  I'm not really sure why as it doesn't look like we're going to have any snow to play in this year.  Was a wasted journey anyway for a car knocking out its big ends  :wonder:

Enjoy the Yeti - it's a possible contender for when I replace the Superb.

My wife wanted a shorter car, with better visibility, but we both wanted the raised suspension and languid ride of the Outback. As such, the 'feel' of the Yeti is very similar, in terms of how they flow down the road. I'm also happy that I get to upgrade ít a bit, with more power/torque and better brakes. The only thing that worried me on the test drive was the soft brake feel, as the engine was quiet, the gearbox slick and the steering nice and positive.

I'm really looking forward to taking delivery now! It's fun to anticipate, assess what we've got, and then figure out what we need, and how to do it.
