New flat bottom steering wheel on Geneva Octy Mk3 vRS

Recommended Posts

Looks great, the idea in a low slung sports car with a more horizontal steering column the flat bottom provides more clearance for legs - but a bit of a nonsense in a more "normal" car.

I disagree, I have my steering wheel quite low so a flat bottomed wheel would be beneficial.

You have the steering column set that low (and presumably the seat that high) that a normal round steering wheel fouls your legs?

Shame it just looks like the standard wheel thats had a bit more chopped off the bottom spoke to flatten it.

The wheels in VW's and Audi's seem to have a bit more flair about them.

Looks like someone in Skoda R & D dropped a standard round wheel on the floor and had a Eureka moment.

Personally think it's absolute pants, but fine I suppose if you like the PS3/Xbox look and don't mind your car resembling one of those Sega driving games you find in the local arcade, and I don't follow this 'just because Audi have got them' train of thought - if you crave Audi features, just go out and buy an Audi.

Anyway, hope to hell one of those things doesn't appear on mine… but probably just end up being grateful to get the bl**dy car!

Maybe it's my phone screen but that wheel looks photoshopped! It looks blurry and stretched down in both corner of the wheel,

most obvious spot are on the left bottom corner where the red stitches are stretched blured.

But it might also be a pore phone camera..
