Got this through facebook.

Humm not sure I really like that

Looks like the same wheel used by VW and Audi in their sports models.

I like it - hope it is standard on MY15 (as I presume that's what I'll be getting).

I can't quite decide on this.

About time too!  :)

Austin Allegro? lol

Doesn't look flat enough. Almost a bit of both

Skoda wont get it..will be the usual parts shortage after tempting every one, then Audi&VW will be prioritised...

They're a silly idea. They look cool, but make no sense in the real world.

Nice! I suspect we'll see that on the MY15 cars....

Had one of these on a Leon, looks cool but really becomes annoying.

I wondered why the vRS didn't have a flat bottomed steering wheel, considering the Golf GTI has one and the Leon Cupra has one.

Looking at that picture though I am not sure I like it.

When does MY15 year kick in? Unless that's a stupid question!

I'd love that wheel on my vRS.

I'd love that wheel on my vRS.

They usually start building around June/July.

The way December orders are going then I should be fine! Lol

I'm sure I read on the thread about vehicles damaged at Grimsby dock that current vRS steering wheels were in short supply and on back order. Perhaps this change has been forced on them and will be fitted to other vRS from now on?! Here's hoping

One of the selling points against the GTI for me has been the normal round steering wheel. Flat bottomed ones are such a stupid idea in the real world it's not even funny. We're not driving race cars...

I'm sorry, but that has got to be the silliest reasoning for a theft that I've seen in a very long time... :))

What is everyone's big hang-up with flat-bottomed steering wheels

I love mine, road car or otherwise  :P

OT:

...but Brimma, for God's sake, that tiny black&white avatar prevents me from keeping attention on topic... and makes me think of that lucky bonnet

I know.......I told the wife not to pose like that, but she insisted  ;)

My mum's TT had a flat bottomed wheel, you don't even notice while driving it.

Its Week 22 MY change over... (is for all VAG)

I have a FBSW on my Audi and like the 'corners' - makes it easier for low speed manoeuvring.

I need one on my MR2 or I can't heel-toe as my leg bangs the bottom of the wheel - but that is a proper sports car...

Flat bottom wheels are fine to use

That pic just looks like a round one that's been dropped rather than a proper flat bottom wheel
