GFWC MK1 VRS Estate!

Featured Replies

Well, my car was written off a few weeks back :(

But yesterday I picked up it's replacement

Its a Skoda Fabia Elegance 1.9 TDI with 70k miles

Unfortunately, it needs a wheel bearing, possibly drop links or ARB bushes and a new theromostat.

Today I replaced all of the interior bulbs, number plate bulbs and side lights with LED's.

I also fitted my HID's

I tried fitting my VRS steering wheel but broke the air bag clip when removing it from the previous fabia, so am going to need a replacement air bag.

Then on top of breaking the air bag, i then shatterd one of my Team Heko wind deflectors when fitting it! :(

At this point I decided not to continue with anything else before I broke more things.

Ideally I'd like to fit my old coilovers from my other Fab, but i may not bother and just buy a cheap new set, but we'll see what happens.

Nooo don't buy a cheap set of coilovers! You'll regret it

I may end up just swapping mine over... Was thinking last night and I can't justify buying a new set just because I'm too lazy to remove the old set. Haha.

I need to remove the entire front hub assembley from my broken estate as I will be needing my larger brakes etc and you can't change the brakes over on the non VRS hubs!

Well after driving the car today for the first time in the heat, it has also come to light that the air con doesn't work either :(

I did however remove my coilovers and will probably be fitting them at some point this week

(Definately need new ones, but these will do for now)

Ahh Dan, neither can I. It's so ****ing ugly! Haha .... And slow!

There will be some big updates happening this week, if the post is kind to me, which it never is!

Are you not loving the Fabia?

This is now my 4th Fabia! It's just, I don't LOVE this one yet.

I know that it's a great car, and a better car than my last one, but i don't love it yet, and I truly loved the one that got smashed up :(

Once I've got this one looking nice and running my hybrid turbo etc then I will be happy with it, until then it's just another, as dan so eloquently put it, a grandad car.

I'm intrigued, because I have an almost identical car (albeit a ranker colour, a bit uglier and a lower spec!).

I nearly sold mine and bought that one when I saw it became available again (before you were interested!) - so like I say I will watch developments with interest...

Looking good bud.

What wheels are going on the new one? Had any luck with a smooth bumper?

Well, I'm looking for something thats different and looks awesome haha .... isnt everyone.

Im not REALLY sure what I'm going to settle with, will just wait until the right thing comes along.

This week should be a good one, spent almost a grand just on parts this weekend, so lots of deliveries... and a smoothed bumper may be in there somehwere Tom ;) hehehehehehehehe

Yeah that's pretty much what everyone wants mate!

That's a fair amount on parts   Going to be having fun waiting for deliveries and fitting lots of parts then!

Haha I thought there might be dude!

Well the last couple day's I've been taking deliveries of lots of goodies :) and I also went a collected the replacement wheels to go on this car.

Today I went and bought LOTS of paint for the car which I'll be focusing on this weekend getting parts sprayed, IE colour coding door handles, new front bumper and rear bumper :D

I test fitted one of the wheels last weekend on the car to see how it sat. My coilovers still arent on but I'm planning on fitting them first thing in the morning.

The rear wheels sat incredibly close to the inside arch (closest to the strut) and was slightly tucked in the outside arch, so i also ordered some spacers last night to sort this out and have the car sitting nicely after fitting the coilovers :)

Thanks mate. Onto better things, it's just tough work and costly starting again! It's getting there ... Slowly slowly

Today I fittet just my front coilovers, so she's rocking the 'Face down, Ass up' look, and i really quite like it.

Shes now low low low, and it scraped on road that seemed to be completely flat!! It doesnt show how low because of the huge tyres on .

I also fitted my aero roof bars :) (which im still undecided on)

Here are a couple snaps

Thanks mate! I hope I don't brake anything else either! I've got such a huge list of things to do. I've got all the bits, it's just finding the time to do it all. Tomorrow I'll be spraying my new bumper. :)

Good luck with the spraying m8 :)

Im ripping my engine/ box out 2moro.. hope its not too windy

Thanks bro, good luck to you too!

I hope the bumper comes out nice the first time and I don't have to redo it. Want to get it all fitted ASAP. I'm in the process of making a plinth for a plate on the fog surround, need to make it a flat surface. :)

Well, today was tough. I spent the day prepping and spraying my new smoothed VRS bumper. It was quite a task, fortunatly the weather was on my side as I was spraying it outdoors! which isnt ideal but there was no wind :)

This is the first snap of me sanding down the top coat on the bumper

This is after the second coat of paint, I was ****ed off because I got a run in the paint which you can see, which meant having to flat it down and then another coat

The little cloud patch in the middle is a blur on the lense of my phone, not in the paint :)

And there we have it. :) I just need to order some more of the face lift bumper clips that attatch to the wings and then I'll fit it :)

Smart :)

They should have done a vrs estate in the first place lol
