Well, I'm ****ed off because my car now won't start. It's got a dead battery. It must be the alternator because I've done like a thousand miles in the last week and it won't go.

I jump started it ... Took it for a blast up the motorway got home, fitted my new bumper, went to go for a drive ... And .... Even more flat.

:(

Could just be the battery dead. Bit of a pain but happens with time. Same thing happened on my brothers octavia

I've found that the boot lights stay on even when the tailgate is closed mate so I've removed the lights to see if it helps and hopefully will find a solution to them staying on.

Looking forward to seeing that new front bumper! Was the painting kit you used expensive? Do you have a compressor etc?

Well I think the battery is buggered as DarkHero says, I drove the car for about 50 miles before going to bed to charge it up for today and I removed the bulbs and made sure there was nothing electrical left on. And the car didn't even turn over this morning.

New battery it is then :(

Bumper looks good mate, seen the photos on instagram!

Bloody annoying about the battery isn't it, had to replace mine when I got back from a 5 week holiday last summer.

Looking forward to seeing your choice of wheels!

Thanks bro.

Yeah the battery is a real fu ck er! I replaced it tonight and then fitted my rear coilovers.

The wheels are a secret until I've finished with them :)

Well, here are some pics of the bumper on the car. I fitted the bumper last night.

Tonight I replaced the battery and fitted my rear coilovers, so she's no longer face down ass up.

Doing it all in the dark at 9pm is not fun, but I managed and definately need sleep!

Looking very smart fella. Finish on the bumper is incredible for someone who painted it in the garden using a garden chair as a stand, respect indeed.

Looking forward to seeing the wheels as well.

Defo looks low now, lower than an armadillo's belly.

Less like a grandad machine now mate.LOL

Yes mate, I use a compressor and different spray guns for different paint and applications. :)

Paint can be quite expensive, but fortunately, I'm quite friendly with body and paint supplies that supplies nearly all body shops in the south east with all their body shop needs, so get it a considerable amount cheaper :)

Nice. Think that's a good skill to have. You self taught or trained somewhere?

Self taught mate, I'm far from good at it yet but I'm definitely improving. :)

Cool next time I'm down in Folkestone seeing the in laws I'll pop it in for the afternoon - for a total respray. £20?

Lol, if happily spray anything for anyone, but can't guarantee that it will come out perfect. Haha

You may regret saying that. Ha ha! Was watching a video the other day where some guy plastidips his whole car a different colour using a £50 diy sprayer. Tempting!

I'm happy to, it's good practice for me. Haha

Test fitted my new wheels tonight (not fitted in this photo) and having some major fitment issues. Rubbing on the arches on every single wheel :(

It's going to take some sorting, so a wheel update may be a little while away :(

Well, ladies and gents, this is what ive been working on over the last few days. The whole weekend I rfurbished and polished the lips, and tonight I put the final coat of colour on the first wheel, and have started the second wheel. Hopefully will put the final coat on the second tonight too!

Haha, thanks for the kind words Rich :)

My talents are very limited I'm afraid!

I finished the 2 front wheels, only the rears to go.

I think I will wait to do those on the weekend as the 14 hour work days are taking their toll!

So more updates on the weekend :)

14 hour work days, George, you gotta man up fella.. LOL.

In all honesty, you have done a great job on the first 2, may as well finish the last two when you are free of work on the weekend and can take your time.  Once the clearance issue is sorted I can't wait to see them on the car.

I think the wheels will make the biggest change in appearance.  I mean, 14" is just not enough mate is it!
