  • Correct buddy your mate is talking rubbish,  you can go lower.   Unless you are already on the deck the VRS can go a lot lower than most VW Golfs as the VRS has a anti roll bar that does not get in

  • if you want to go low on 17 spiders you defo need spacers to clear the coilover platforms as tyres will rub them   I have 12mm hubcentic H&R spacers, you will need 8mm or greater   here's mine

  • Send pics buddy, i doubt it is your FARB rubbing and something else.

The boost pipes or pancake metal boost pipe are  no where near the suspension

I will get you a few first thing tomorrow bud. Unfortunately it is as its marked the driveshafts :-( possibly bushes worn through?! And its allowing for too much movement or droplinks too short? (Merc vito ones for the prosports right?)

Well it is a modded std grill that I cut up and added mesh. I did a diy guide in the tech section.

I am up for a meet as in Portsmouth.

Not to far to go.

might find the drive shaft is rubbing on the chassis? I had to cut a notch. that was tdi though, dont know if the 1.8t is same, shafts maybe thinner due to the tiny torque figures hahaha

ps when im past 350k miles ill nip back and give yous guys a lift to 500k  :giggle:  hi bowders :hi:

Hi dude, how you doing these days...

I really doubt he is low enough to hit chassis with drive shaft unless he is stupid low.....

The tdi and 1.8t (none VRS) run same set up as each other where the drop links are attached to FARB and wishbone .

The VRS runs the drop links from the strut to FARB. This give better clearance so the VRS should be ok on this unless someone has changed the set up.

Now maybe something to do with the Merc vito drop links and the Pro sport coil overs have caused in reducing the gap between drive shaft and FARB as those merc drop links are shorter.

Here is the nice gap on the std drop link to drive shaft

pics with the car on the ground showing the relationship between drive shaft, chassis, drop links etc will solve this.

Just been out and taken some pictures, although im a little embarrassed at how yours looks Bowders and how mine looks haha! it only seems to rub on the front passengers side, on full lock either way and if im carrying some speed into a right hander!

These pics are with the car on my drive. if you need anymore let me know! and to the op im sorry for hijacking your thread mate! looking at it I think my droplinks might be too short? comparing it to your picture Bowders.
