VW RCD 510 with DAB Head Unit for Sale

Featured Replies

For sale is 1 x Mint condition VW RCD 510 DAB Head unit, with built in 6 disc CD Changer, SD Card slot and of course DAB radio. Was fitted to my Fabia Scout, plug and play, no coding needed, just a foil DAB antenna from Halfords for £19 and you are good to go. Replacing it with an RNS 510 DAB, so that's the reason for sale.

It's the VW model, so shows up with red illumination at night, but to be honest, it looks fine to me. I bought it new from a guy that had his Golf GTi head unit replaced on delivery to an RNS 510 by the dealer (More money than sense IMHO, he paid the dealer almost £1600 for it), so it was in a VW box, and I have the security code for it. I know the guy I bought it from, so nothing dodgy, ropey, stolen etc, all legit and above board.

This will go straight into, with only a foil antenna required;

MK2 Fabia - No mods

MK2 Superb - No Mods

MK 2 Octavia - New Fascia required (Same as Columbus)

Yeti - later models require fascia plate

It also of course fits Passat / Golf V onwards / Jetta etc.

Not sure about the Rapid, you need to check, but I suspect it's standard unit is an RCD 310 so this will drop straight in if that's the case.

It is compatible with Factory Bluetooth (I retrofitted this to my Fabia Scout), and works with steering wheel controls (I have MFSW Retrofitted by Eddie-NL) and MaxiDot (Again I have MaxiDot retrofitted by Eddie-NL) showing tracks / MP3 Tags / Station info etc.

Reception has been fine with the foil antenna, very very few drops, and if it does drop it auto switches to the same station on FM, then auto switches back again.

Price is £220 Posted to UK or £205 Collected from Warrington, Cheshire.

If you need a hand fitting it, I can help out if needed for a small fee. Pictures attached, and IMHO with Maxidot dashpod, it's actually the heater controls that look out of place, not the RCD 510 :)

I think I have under priced it, looking at Ebay, the closest price I could find for one in the same condition was £249.99 + £21 postage, most are around £350.

Oh well, a price is a price, just don't come in expecting to haggle folks :) I'm not desparate to sell :)

What is the difference other than having DAB to the bolero in my FL VRS? Oh and I don't have MFSW or maxi dot

Functional difference, it's a bolero with DAB.

Physical difference it's slightly smaller and the buttons light up red.

Cheers
