Uprated Clutch Options?

Featured Replies

The more I research it, the more likely the workshop I asked to do it just didn't know how or wanted to. According to ZF, the CCZA engine code is 100% sachs OE fit, they should know as they are the OE supplier. The cover plate to match an LUK flywheel ceased production some time ago, which all points to a sachs flywheel being fitted to my car.

The only option seems to be to take it to someone who actually knows that they are doing...Mansfield here we come, again!

Can you find out and let me know the part number of the clutch kit that you have. I want to possibly get the loba flywheel but need to make sure it mates with the clutch.

Yeah mate the cluch cover plate is 88 3082 999 798 a6ehy7eq.jpg

The Sachs Organic plate is visable on this photo,2eby7a9e.jpgena9ejah.jpg

And the Loba SMF which didn't have a part number on, or I didn't see it !7a4y3y9e.jpgyrupa2a6.jpgny3a6u8e.jpg

Whilst gearbox is out renew CSC Concentric Slave Cylinder and check the Gearbox Seal for leaks/ weeping. You can see it in the centre of the box when off, it's a rubber seal approx 2" in diameter, asu6ezah.jpgcosts about £2 from tps. An original Sachs CSC is on Eurocarparts now for £34. All this was installed yesterday and I drove home 180 miles. You can hear a bit of vibration but it's worth it in my eyes. You can feel a bit difference in pedal a fair bit firmer and springs back a lot quicker. Felt weird compared to normal but been out in it this morning and it's already becoming easier, will take a bit getting used to, but I'm sure this clutch will handle anything you can throw at it. Which is good for me as I've ordered my k04 also ! 350bhp here we come ! I also had my new THS FR3 Engine mount, Gearbox Mount, Torque mounts and FARB Polybushes put in at the same time. The engine is solid with these in so I get even more noise and vibration until these wear in a bit. If you need the Loba Flywheel part number give JBS Autos in Chesterfield a ring, they should be able to help you. The techs they employ are all sound all petrolheads and know these cars inside out, they are by far the best performance garage I've used ! I drove away from there £1200+ lighter with no extra power and was still happy !

Thanks for such a detailed reply!

Do you know how much the flywheel was?

I'm not sue exactly mate as I didnt get a detailed invoice. I think it was approx £400 And the clutch and plate are about £500 then fitting on top. These parts are for a BWA not a CCZA mind ! Should all be about the same money wise. It's a huge expense for an uprated clutch but think of it being only slightly more than an OEM clutch done at a Skoda Dealership, it's seems to lighten the burden knowing you've got something far better !
