throttle pedal

Featured Replies

Do anyone else experience the throttle pedal clicking then moving a bit more to achieve full throttle?,just started noticing this this week, its as if it has a false flat out position then clicks and travels a bit further with another surge in power when flat out,it may be just a characteristic of the car,tdi vrs

On a manual car rather than provide kickdown myth is that it allows for normal (full) acceleration when in Eco mode. Not sure how much truth there is in this as cant say i've noticed it do very much.

It is in fact true, I didn't believe it either until I tried it.

All iv got to add is Eco mode is horrible. Nothing nothing nothing POWER.

No wonder the roads are getting slower with all these horrible "driving modes" and consumption calculators.

My car certainly provides the best and most progressive throttle response in normal; that said eco does help with fuel consumption at a motorway cruise; pretty rubbish otherwise.

Yep. As soon as I get on the motorway, I switch to Eco. Other than that, I use normal or "Individual" (set to normal for everything but sport for the headlights).

Edit: regarding the original post, I didn't know about that either. Will have a play this evening!

Have to say I actually like the Eco, as it takes me a fair bit of time getting into work so I have the cruise control on and set the car to Eco, it cuts out the sound generator leading to a much quieter journey.

On the way home however it's usually set to normal or sport :) as I'm never in a rush to get into work, but getting home is a different situation!
